Roast Beast Sammie and Soup

I love our local deli.  The quality of meat is not only wonderful, but the prices match it.  We got 1/2 pound rare roast beef for $2.63!   Tony and I were going to do a comparison corned beef experiment – buying a medium to low grade and then a high end corned beef to see if there would be a significant difference in taste. ...

Happy St. Patty’s Day!

Okay, I am done being a crabapple!  Today’s another day, right?!   I get to eat my beloved corned beef with sauerkraut for dinner!!! Before I got called back into work last night, I got one picture of the lasagne – it turned out really good!  Even Hannah liked it, and she doesn’t usually like sauce! Breakfast this morning is a 2 ounce 7 grain roll, 1 ounce...

No Dinner Post

I had to work late – no big.  Hannah put the lasagne in the oven and I was home for 15 minutes when I got called back to work. I ate my dinner in front of the copier.  I am going home to drink a BIG glass of wine and snuggle with Tony. See you tomorrow.

48 = no workout

Yep, that was my blood sugar as I was heading down to work out!  Rats!   So I quickly put my lunch together.  I used Trader Joe’s chili since it was in my cupboard – not sure I’ll get it again, although while flavorful – there is the onion factor.  I was able to pick most of them out thankfully! 10 ounce baked potato 3/4 cup...

Weigh-In Monday and Bag of Food

I am down 1.5 this week!  I weighed in at 163.5 – let’s hope it continues in this direction! We went to bed at a decent hour last night, so I should have had no problem getting up today.  Except that there was no sound on my alarm!   Turns out if your eyes are closed and your alarm just blinks at you, that won’t wake...

Grilled Steak and Sea Salt/Pepper Baked Potatoes

While I had planned to make lasagne for dinner tonight, it was too nice not to grill out!  So on the way home from our BWW lunch, we picked up some sirloins steaks – on sale for $3.00 a pound! But first, I still put together my lasagne:  So I lit the grill, let the tomatoes from yesterdays salsa burn off and I cleaned the...

BSI – Strawberries!

When I gave Tony his dessert last night, he took one look and had chocolate sauce and whipped cream on the brain and was taken aback when it was balsamic vinegar and ricotta cheese and honey! 😀 Thanks for hosting this week!  http://heywhatsfordinnermom.blogspot.com/2009/03/bsi-hostits-me_10.html I showed you the picture yesterday, but forgot to leave you the recipe!! Balsamic Strawberries with Ricotta Cream 1 cup part-skim ricotta...

It was a Grand Opening!

A Buffalo Wild Wings had a grand opening in the town next to ours, and we decided to check it out and see if it was too crowded – crowded, yes, but not too crowded! I may have started out with this:  And against my better judgment, I got the boneless wings with hot sauce.  I ate all the celery, 6 of the chicken nuggets...

Relaxing Morning!

I made the eggs in a bread roll for my mom this morning and since my rolls were slightly bigger than the ones I made last week, I ended up using about 1/3 cup egg beaters instead of 1/4 cup.   And the fact that I baked 4 at a time instead of 2 at a time, it took a long time to cook, and 3...

Good Dinner and Wonderful Show!

Dinner was good, but the meat was not up to par.  I cooked it exactly as I’ve done in the past, and it was a bit too chewy – not as tender – and its rare!  Maybe too rare?   So the Hannah’s high school musical did not disappoint.  My mom and I swear that you could put any production in downtown Chicago and not...
