It’s chilly . . . so chili it is!

As I was thinking what to bring for lunch today I forgot about the chili from last week – and its still good!  Sliced up the last jalapeno and had an ounce of tortilla chips for dipping.  And of course, the Tabasco sauce! And since I forgot my camera yesterday, I couldn’t show off my new snowman mug!  I don’t usually have santas, but I couldn’t pass this...

Feels like snow!

It was 23 degrees this morning and frost over everything.  Poor Ed misses the car rides to the trails – they are closed this week for deer reduction.  This morning was no exception – I let him out in the backyard before I took Hannah to school and when I went to see where he was, he was sitting patiently beside the car! Pretty soon...

Finally . . . chicken vesuvio!

I’ve had this on the menu a few times, but it never came together.  I made it with chicken breasts, not cut up chicken, much to Tony’s dismay.  But, I did have to use up the chicken breasts!  But since I forgot my camera earlier today, I took this picture which I thought was kind of cool! And guess what I came home to? I...

Unprepared Monday

So I took Ed for a quick walk this morning – 27 degrees!  I had my camera in my winter coat pocket to take the usual morning pictures.  I came home, brought in some more wood for the wood burning stove, made my breakfast and lunch and got ready for work. I decided I didn’t need my winter coat for the drive to work and...

Fun Day!

What a fun day we had!  Wish the weather wasn’t quite so cold – very chilly downtown with the wind.  There were even a few snowflakes! Our trip started out by picking up my sister, who lives an hour away from me.  Here’s Hannah driving!  We ended up picking up my sister and parking near the L station to make the trip downtown.  It’s a...

What? No batteries??!!

Yep, this food blogger officially ran out of batteries last night!  Right as I was about to take dinner pics too! Our lunch kept us full for the longest time, so we didn’t feel like anything huge.  I ended up making potato soup simple style: One 27 ounce can chicken broth 1/2 cup skim milk 1 tablespoon smart balance 1 tablespoon flour about 20 diced...

It was totally worth it!

So Hannah and I spent about 2 1/2 hours cleaning the basement and organizing my clothes.  Thanks Hanners!  So I thought we would reward ourselves with lunch out with Tony.  They had my favorite beer on special – Sam Adams Summer Ale – they must be trying to get rid of it – my gain!  Two bottles were only $3.50! I got a buffalo chicken...

Today is the kind of day. . .

that should be spent in bed, under covers and watch movies all day!  It’s cold, kinda raining/sleet/snow mixture.  But, I never did clean my desk last week and my clothes are a disaster downstairs.  Hannah is a neat freak and always helps me organize my stuff.  When I askd her if she’d help me with my clothes she said “if you followed my rules we...

Poor planning 101

Okay, so by now, if I have any regular readers, you know it is homemade pizza party Friday night at my house.  Tony was looking for something to fix for lunch, and realized there was still deep dish pizza from last week, and thought it would be delicious reheated in the toaster oven.  But after first bite. . . NO!  This means he would be...
