Weekly WI–Up .2

Weekly WI–Up .2
I woke up and checked the weather yesterday morning, and it said 50 degrees.  Nice!  I grabbed a light sweater and at the last second grabbed a scarf before heading out the door.  Well, holy balls, it felt like winter again – it was windy, rainy and with the wind chill probably felt more like 40.  I should know better living in Chicago all my...

Chicago’s Riverwalk

Chicago’s Riverwalk
You knew I wouldn’t let my leftover French fries go to waste, right?  I used an ounce of chopped leftover fries as the base of my omelette.  I will tell you though, that this is best right out of the cast iron skillet, because the fries get nice and crunchy, but even reheated, this was tasty.  One egg, egg whites, deli ham, pepper jack cheese...

New Digs!

New Digs!
That tall building is my new office! It’s super modern, and several notches up from our old space. I think they had been in that old location 30 years?! It took me just over 12 minutes to walk from the train station – not too bad.  Since I had no idea how my day was going to start, I ate my breakfast on the train....

47 point day

47 point day
While I didn’t have lunch planned, I can always count on my Chobani breakfast parfait.  Simple, easy, delicious and most important, filling!  I’ve been whittling down my office plates, glasses, etc. in anticipation of the office move, and realized I had nothing to put my parfait in.  I found this rocks glass in the shared office kitchen – I love that it says Glenlevit on...

+1.8 Weekly WI

+1.8 Weekly WI
I knew I would be up this week.  Mainly because after such a big loss last week, I got cocky, thinking I can have another bite of this, or another glass of wine.  That thinking and eating caught up with me, but I am happy to say I am still in the 150s by the hair on my chin! Huh, and I just realized that...

We like hand cut fries. . . and fresh baked cookies.

Good morning!  Yesterday was again a busy day, and Wednesday’s are the days that I am night secretary so I worked until 7:00 p.m.  The next train isn’t until 7:30, and it makes ALL the stops, so I didn’t get home until 9:00 last night. I was sitting at my desk in the morning and I got a text from ComEd that the power was...

Carb Cycling and –4.6!

Carb Cycling and –4.6!
Do you ever have those days where you feel . . . “smaller?”  I woke up like that yesterday.   Like most Weight Watchers on day of WI you try to wear the lightest outfit you own.  My new WW “uniform?”  Tights.  Well, I bought tights at Sam’s Club thinking they were leggings.  Rats.  So I cut off the feet and now I made tigths...

They Are Ready to Fly!

They Are Ready to Fly!
After a couple months of searching, finding places they like, only to have them go under contract before they can even see them, being outbid on other homes, they finally found one!  Not only that, their offer was accepted, below asking price, the home inspection went through with flying colors and if everything goes as planned, they will close on April 28. I could not...

I need a nap.

I need a nap.
When my Mom, sister and I were at Trader Joe’s over the weekend, this granola caught my eye at the check out.  I first saw the word coffee and was like “sold!”  I love granola but hate how many points I have to spend for so little food.  Some serving sizes can be as little as 1/4 cup for 8-10 points!  So I was thrilled...

Last Birthday Celebration of the Month! #pinkyswear

Last Birthday Celebration of the Month! #pinkyswear
It’s official – the March birthday celebrations have come to an end! 😀  Jacob turned 25 yesterday and he’s the sixth birthday of the month.  Whew!  It was fun while it lasted! Tony used to tell me that I left all my organizational skills at work, which is partly true.  While my house isn’t 100% organized all the time, my desk is a different story....
