Coldest yet!

By the time I got to the trail this morning with Ed, it was 28 degrees!  Winter coat? Check.  Hat? Check.  Gloves? Check! It was beautiful though – we went on a new path and he could not have been happier.  We walked for 40 minutes! I was hungry by the time we got back.  I made my mock McDonald’s sausage McMuffin – with Tabasco!...

Snow?

There were actual snow flurries on my drive home from work tonight – what’s up with that?!  Although, its typical to be cold for Halloween!  It was 38 degrees when I got in the car, and its supposed to get down to the upper 20’s tonight.  Okay, I know I like fall and cold weather, but this is a bit too much too soon! It...

Stirfry Soup?

So I brought stuff to work to make stir fry, forgetting that I used up the last of my stir fry sauce last week.  Nertz! So I looked in the refrigerator, and there was some soy sauce – yes!  And then I had chunky peanut butter in my cabinet next to the stove.  I melted 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and stirred in about 1...

I came in second place!

In the Blogger Secret Ingredient – cranberries!  Check it out at www.fitnessista.com.  I made Christmas Morning Biscotti with dried cranberries and green pistachios.  Yum!  I promised Tony I would make some over the weekend, but never got around to it.  I’ll make some tonight! Monday is a late start for Hannah’s school, so I took advantage and slept in.   I’ll have to take Ed on...

The Story of Sachmo

When Hannah was little and she and I lived with my parents, one of the great holiday traditions was bringing out Sachmo.  Sachmo was a Halloween mask that my dad put on the end of the stair banister, and he wrapped a coat around him, with a scarf, and put a hat on him. That way, when kids came trick or treating to the door,...

Sleepy Sunday

I slept in until 9:30 this morning – nice!  My blood sugar was kinda low this morning (68).  I wasn’t going to eat much because I am having brunch at my mom’s, but I had to eat something: The old standby:  english muffin/apple/cheese  So I kind of made a quiche/casserole to take to my moms.  I had a huge zucchini that was shredded, so i...

Yummy dinner

On the weekends, you would think that I would take Ed on longer walks, but life just gets in the way.  I did take him on a quick 15 minute walk though – very windy!  We walked by the channel of the river near our house: Then we walked all the way down by the river – beautiful sunset! We ended up doing a dry...

Quick lunch

We broke down our gazebo today, which officially means summer is over!   It’s kinda sad just to see the metal posts attached to the ground!  Oh well, it will be nice when we can put it back together in the spring! Soup (for me) and sammies for lunch today.  We plan on doing a beef roast on the grill tonight – its just us tonight! ...

Busy morning and corned beef hash

I wanted it so bad!  The place we stopped for breakfast this morning has the corned beef hash skillet that has a layer of hashbrowns, then a layer of scrambled eggs, then a layer of corned beef hash then cheddar cheese melted on top and they serve it to you in a cast iron skillet.  YUM! But I did good.  I had 1 scrambled egg,...
