Lasagna at an Irish Pub

Whenever I don’t order something a restaurant is known for, Tony says its like ordering lasagna at an Irish Pub!  We ended up going to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch, and I did not get chicken wings!  But what Hannah and I got was very good!  We each got the grilled chicken wraps that came with tortilla chips and salas on the side. I ended...

I may have burned off my pie!

We slept in until 10:00 this morning!  Love that!  Breakfast was quick and easy – toast, ham/cheese/1 egg scramble: Hannah and I took an hour walk with Ed this morning – it was so nice out!  The car said 39 degrees, but it felt a lot warmer: We are off to have lunch out and see a movie!  See you later!  Hope everyone is having...

I am so full!

I am happy to say everything went great – all the food was cooked perfectly, the turkey was moist and delicious and we had great company – who could ask for anything more? At first I thought the two bottles of Pinot Grigio weren’t going to be enough – but it was.  Here is my favorite (and only!) wine cork!  I didn’t realize the spiral...

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are all set, turkey/ham in the oven and waiting for our guests, so I thought I would sneak in a quick post. I made pecan pie for the first time, um, lots of sugar! but it looks amazing – I may sneak a sliver later – definitely insulin worthy! I got the recipe off of www.pioneerwomancooks.com.  I had to buy Karo syrup, I can’t...

Sushi = yum!

Okay, I should come clean, Hannah and I don’t eat RAW sushi, at all!  We love the cooked stuff!  Tony on the other hand only likes the raw stuff (and the gross stuff if you ask me!) Started the night with this beer – so light and refreshing – they just came out with a light beer not too long ago (at least its new...

Cold soup?

So while out at lunch buying wine, I didn’t bring a lunch today so I decided to stop by Subway.  They have mini-sub sandwiches that come in around 180 calories.  I get the ham and she literally puts two extremely thin slices on the bun and asks what toppings I want.  I ask “is that all the ham you put on there?” to which she replied:...

My Friday!

Yippee!  Hopefully today will go by fast!  Rumor is we are getting let go at 3:00 today, but you never know so I am not going to get my hopes up! Tony did the Sam’s club shopping this morning, so its one last trip to the grocery store tonight and we are all set.  I am going to the liquor store at lunch – they...

Comfort food. . .

Tony once was a guest to a home in Texas and the hostess asked “have you ever had chicken fried steak?”  Tony’s reply: “No!” What he received was crispy cube steak smothered in pan gravy with mashed potatoes.  Tonight I tried to reinvent that recipe.  The results?  Um, not as flavorful, not as crispy and the meat wasn’t as moist.  So I am going to try...

Another sammie

Having that Potbelly sandwich yesterday and going through the fridge this morning, I realized I had some corned beef I needed to use up.  My sandwich was 1 oz. of french bread, 1.5 ounce corned beef, .5 ounce muenster cheese and pickled jalapenos!  With orange slices and I believe the last of the Taco soup! So Tony and I are going to finalize the Thanksgiving menu...

Sunshine snowflake oatmeal

Since almost everyone in food blogosphere has oatmeal for breakfast, I decided to make some too.  It’s so quick with the minute oats.  I usually make it at home and then warm it up at work.  Today’s oatmeal had 2 ounces of sliced banana, 1 tablespoon of Planter’s granola mix and 1 teaspoon of coconut – the coconut actually made this oatmeal!  I had every...
