Okay, I should come clean, Hannah and I don’t eat RAW sushi, at all! We love the cooked stuff! Tony on the other hand only likes the raw stuff (and the gross stuff if you ask me!)
Started the night with this beer – so light and refreshing – they just came out with a light beer not too long ago (at least its new to me!)
Hannah and I ended up spliting four appetizers – each one cost $4.95 – not too bad!
My favorite hands down was the fried tofu. The batter is corn starch of all things! (I asked). It is so creamy in the middle it melts in your mouth. Hannah didn’t like the sauce that the spring rolls were sitting in so next time we’ll probably ask for sauce on the side.
Tony’s plate was all things raw!
The grossest thing on his plate by far is the whole head shrimp – here’s a picture of him just about to bite down on the shrimp eye!
So I did get let out at 3:00 today, which meant we were able to finish our last minute grocery shopping and dinner and back home by 6:30! Nice, which leaves Hannah and I plenty of time to put the pecan pie together, her two casseroles and my macaroni and cheese – yum! The full menu will be posted tomorrow!
Hope everyone who was traveling got to their destinations safely! See you tomorrow for Gobble Gobble Day!
AND A HUGE THANK YOU GOES OUT TO HANNAH WHO CLEANED THE WHOLE HOUSE ON HER DAY OFF FROM SCHOOL TODAY! She organized my refrigerator, freezer, pantry, tupperware drawer, utencil drawer, cooking supplies and two cupboards! All that’s left to do tomorrow is mom the kitchen floor and a quick vacuum – whew! I don’t know where she gets her organizational skills from – definitely not me!
MM i love agedashi! and i’m glad you got to get out early yesterday – have a happy thanksgiving!!
I got sushi tonight too! My plate looked a lot more like Tony’s! At our sushi place, a “harumaki” is a spicy raw tuna roll, coated in tempura crunchies and drizzled with spicy sauce. Not at all like your harumaki!
that’s a really good/fancy japanese restaurant! everything looks so delicious!!!!
And that photo? hahaha..you make me laugh! ^_^
The gyoza looks delicious! I remember reading somewhere you said you were from the Chicago area – if you’re ever by Wicker Park try this Chinese & Japanese restaurant called Papajin…oh my gosh I eat there every time I’m in Chicago!
How nice of Hannah to do that!
Gorgeous dishes!!
Kudos to your daughter!! 😀
Awww your daughter sounds awesome ;)! Pecan pie and mac and cheese- yummyyyy! Post pictures please! Looks like a fun dinner! I can’t eat raw meats either….makes my tummy turn! Happy Thanksgiving 😉
Haha, I eat the head of the shrimp – that is where all the flavour is jammed packed! 😉
And you’re making me drool over your delicious eats! Gyoza! YUM! Highly jealous of you!
WOW..seriously impressive sushi!! I love sushi…that’s so sweet of your daughter!! I help out my mom a lot more now that I’m older I think, but I don’t think I ever used a day off of school! 😀
