We left a few windows open last night and it got so chilly in the house the heat turned on! It was 51 degrees when I left for work!
My goal was to get up and go to the gym again today, but turns out when you stay up to watch Conan O’Brien and don’t go to bed until 11:30, it makes it hard to get up!
I did, however, get up early enough to take the dog for a 30 minute walk, so that’s a start!
Although it was cool because just as we were almost to the rivers edge, to the left of me was a whole flock of turkey vultures – there must have been a dozen of them! They flew off before I could get a picture – they are huge – their wingspan looks to be about 4 feet!
Today’s breakfast is again the Hot Mess Oatmeal – spicy oats ala Alison – I used twice as much Frank’s hot sauce this time and it was perfect – I also added 1/2 ounce of goat cheese on top of the egg white sammie – so good!
My friend can’t work out at the same time as me today – I think I am going to do my treadmill walk/jog/sprint at lunch and then do the 20 minute shred when I get home before making dinner – that’s the plan anyway!
Morning break is over – come back at lunch for Southwestern Egg Rolls and my version of Panera’s Fuji Apple Salad!
Gosh that breakfast looks really good Biz!
It is SO chilly in the midwest! I can’t even believe it’s June!!
I always get so hungry over here! I can’t wait to the fuji apple salad.
I live on the coast, so grey=summer weather. I get to escape it every day to go to work, but my poor husband and kids are stuck in it until summer vacation starts.
Mmmm, your breakfast looks yummy! I still have yet to try the spicy oats. I might have to get some of those steel-cut ones, I suspect they’d work better for something like that than the rolled oats.
Actually, I have McCann’s instant rolled oats – they turn out really creamy!
I don’t have the patience of cooking the steel-cut oats!
your egg white sammie looked a little like an english muffin pizza when i first glanced at your photo! what can i say, i have carbs on my mind as usual!!
Yeah, this weather is so odd. It’s chilly and gray in LA…what we like to call the June gloom. That is a nice, warm breakfast though. Love the cheesey goodness on top!
Looks delicious, as usual! 🙂
I love the idea of savory oats but have difficulty getting into it. I think it’s because I’m programmed to think of oats as being a sweet meal.
To be honest, I don’t really feel like I am eating oats because they are so creamy – you should try it! 😀
what a pretty view in the morning 🙂 i love savory oats – I need to make them again soon.
