I kept my promise. It’s a hectic morning around here, so I am taking a blog break today. I also need to write a post where tears are not streaming down my face!
So on a lighter note, I make the treats after our office Christmas party every year, and our luncheon is on Friday. This is such a simple thing to do, but it’s a show stopper. Simply dip a sourdough pretzel into melted white chocolate, then drizzle with dark chocolate and then press toffee bits into the chocolate before it hardens. No baking, super cheap – Michael’s sells the chocolate for $2.29 a bag. The best part about that chocolate is that it can be melted in the microwave over and over until it’s all used up.
That picture was taken with my iPhone 4, using the app Photo Toaster to edit. I made it vibrant, then I antiqued the background. I think it looks kind of cool – and I love the heart shape of the finished product too. Um, for the record, this is insulin worthy! I bought ceramic baking pans at Michael’s too – they were $1 each, and I bought a package of cellophane wraps to finish it off.
Of course I bought the snowmen pans – duh! There is so much noise on my roof now, I am not sure how I am going to get out of the house without getting hit by old roofing material! Wish me luck. Make it a great day!
Happy to know the roof is taken care of. One less thing for you to worry with. Your treats look so pretty. I like that they formed a heart. I saw those little loaf pans and thought of you. Of course so many things make me think of you. (Not in a creepy way 🙂
They are doing the parking lot at my work at the moment and my office is on that side of the building. The noise is making me crazy sometimes especially since I have a cold with headaches, doesn’t help 🙂
The treats look so good and I bet they taste great too.

Biz the pretzels look amazeballs and the packaging makes them so festive, good job! I remember a year or too back you hauling tar patch up on the roof to do a temporary fix on some areas, so glad you will not have to worry about that anymore. You ARE an amazing woman! Hugs to you!
I suck at making candy. Fudge, divinity, corn flake candy…it all hates me! lol But these yummy looking pretzels look like something I could do!
Ahh, roofing. I think I might have mentioned before my Hubby is a awesome DIYer. He conned me several years ago into helping with our roof. I’m not fond of heights and it was in July. So I did a lot of sitting & crab crawling around on the roof. Blistered areas of my backside that I will never forget!! Lol :-O

Roofing is so, so noisy. Be glad you don’t have a slate roof because that is way noiser than asphalt. It will be so good for this winter to have a new roof, though – and worth the noise.

Oh yeah…..it sounds like a herd of elephants running on your roof when the roofers are tearing it up. And I would second or third that…nails, JP found at least 24 nails on the drive way, don’t want a flat tire after a roofing job.
Mmmmm….those pretzels are looking good too. And pretty little packages all wrapped up. Snowmen can cheer the hearts.
Yummy looking pretzels. When my kids where younger we would get the mini pretzels and put a Hershey kiss in the middle, bake for a few min and then smoosh it a little. They thought they made the best think every.
We had a roof done and I second that you check that they did not leave any nails or metal pieces around.

Yay for getting a new roof before the real winter sets in! Be sure to check around after they’re done for nails. Even though they used a magnet thing at our house, we found a couple. Nothing more annoying than a flat tire from a dumb nail!

Roofing is crazy noisy. I know they are supposed to go over your driveway with a magnetic thing to pick up all of the nails, but be sure to take a good look, because I’ve had several friends end up with flat tires after a roofing job.

Our office does a cookie exchange every year – bring a certain # of half-dozen cookies/bars/treats and take home the same # you bring of other people’s stuff. Since I am new to the office I decided to participate. Well, looks like I’ll be bringing treats home from 6 other people this year! Now, I just have to figure out how to get some baking done over the next week!
