So my plan this morning was to take our dog to the trail for a long walk. He sleeps at the foot of our bed on the floor, usually on a down comforter. Since Tony was still sleeping, I bent down to Ed and whispered in his ear “do you want to go for a walk?” Typically, any mention of the word walk, or any word that rhymes with walk for that matter will send him running to the back door!
Today, not so much! So I went to Plan B. It was about 6:45 a.m., and at 7:00 Body Sculpting with Gilad came on discovery health channel. Today’s workout was shoulders, abs and thighs. 10 minutes of abs, 10 minutes of shoulders and 10 minutes of lunges. After the program was over I did 10 minutes of stretching which was nice!
So then I decide I am going to make dinner. I started making marinara sauce from fresh tomatoes last night, and while I was doing my workout, I put it back on the heat for final seasoning. So I made a lasagna – my half is spinach and Tony’s half is meat. I am anxious to see how the nutrition turns out, I wrote down everything I put in but didn’t put it in MasterCook yet.
So here I am thinking I have all the time in the world, when all of a sudden I look up and its 8:10! I hadn’t even put my breakfast and lunch together, let alone shower or dress! So this is what I did:
So breakfast was 1 light English muffin, 1/4 cup egg white, 1/4 cup egg beaters, .5 ounce fat free feta cheese, 3 slices 95% lean deli ham, 4 ounces 4% cottage cheese and an orange.
So the plan for lunch is to bake a spaghetti squash – I’ll probably put it in the oven around 11, its pretty big (love having a kitchen at work!) with some of the marinara from this morning with baby spinach, crushed red pepper and a light english muffin garlic bread.
Spoiler Alert: Biggest Loser
So what was the deal with “to be continued!” I say Mike made the weigh in, but I hate having to wait a week to find out! But I LOVE that Mike gave Aubrey his years worth of groceries! That made me tear up just a bit!
Okay, morning break is over. I’ll see you at lunch!
I loooooooved the Biggest Loser/Top Chef combo (my other favorite show) Yay Rocco! Hee!!
I had the sinking feeling that Mikey did NOT make the 10 lbs (way to make a kid have an aneurism from pressure!!) but we won’t know til next week.
Did you love Sugar Ray Leonard? I loved him. And the food bank challenge was awesome. I also loved the fact that they were weighing in WITH each other rather than against. Except for the end.
Anyway, I looooove lasagne (can I make it with ricotta??) so once again you have saved my day.
Mike was so sweet on the biggest loser
Your breakfast looks healthy and tasty…my kind of meal.
That’s a good looking breakfast! You give me good ideas, breakfast adn lunch are always my laziest meals!
I was soooo pissed at BL. I actually went on Wikipedia right before the ending because I couldn’t wait anymore and then I saw that it would be continued… GAH. So annoying.
Also – I want a dog! And I think we’re getting one soon 🙂
Awh, that is so cute with Ed though! I think that is awesome having a dog.
AND LOVE YOUR EATS!!!!
I love the consistency of your Tabasco sauce! I hope the Tabasco company sends you bottles and bottles to keep you fired up! 🙂 For me, its Red Hot. That stuff is YUMMY!!!
Do you microwave your eggbeaters for the McMuffin? I’ve been trying to find those “egg rings” so I can have an English muffin-sized egg, but no luck.
Yep, I microwave them – just find a dish that is the same size as your bagel or english muffin – that should work!
How long do you microwave them for?
Sometimes random thrown together breakfasts are the best! Great combo of foods!
Biz, you cried when that idiot Dice guy got fired by Trump.
Although I shouldn’t say anything, I tear up during Brian’s Song, It’s a Wonderful Life, Godfather 3 and of course when the little kid runs shouting “Peterson, Peterson” in The Green Berets. That gets me every time.
This is true. I also cry at most Hallmark commercials, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Big Fish, and Extreme Home Makeover!! I am sappy, what can I say??!! But that’s why you love me! 😀
I’m jealous you have an oven at work!
