And I hope its yours too! (Since I don’t know how to link to a post, 😀 I am keeping this post on top until Monday – my newer posts will hopefully show up after this one!)
I decided to do a post to help motivate me as well as any readers I may have. Here’s the deal. Tell me what your goal is for just the month of January. I don’t want you to say you want to fit in a bikini by June, or you want to work out 2 hours a day 6 days a week. I am talking about realistic goals that you can achieve – and you have until the end of January to do it!
Here’s mine:
- drink at least 32 ounces of water each day (seriously lacking on this lately!)
- work out for 45 minutes 4 days a week (again, seriously lacking on this lately!)
- no wine during the week (I love my red wine – a bit too much I think!)
So it’s that simple. Tell me what your goals are in the comment section, let me know then if it’s okay to add you to my blog roll, and hopefully we can keep tabs on each other to make sure we are meeting our goals. Are you in??
And it’s the beginning of the month, so see my monthly giveaway below! All you need to do is post a comment and you’ll be entered. I will pick a winner on Monday, January 5.
So take your time, think about what you really want to accomplish just the month of January. It may be taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Or walking your dog every night for 20 minutes. I hope you join me! My challenge starts on Monday!
- diet log book
- water bottle
- calorie counter for travel – has over 500 fast food restaurants!
- cool gel pen
- 1001 Recipe book
- December Shape Magazine
- December Taste of Home Appetizer Magazine
- December Racheal Ray Magazine
- December Food & Wine Magazine
- December Cooking Light Magazine
Good Luck!
My goals are simple but complicated. LOL

Eat clean – making meals at home
And Learn to cook to make those meals at home. 🙂
Gotta a lot of magazines and some cook books gotta put them to good use this year.
My goal = gain muscle mass.
My goals for January are well… lofty 🙂
1) No artificial or processed foods. Only whole foods.
2) Log everything I eat

Hopefully some weight loss will result 🙂

My goal for Jan (and the rest of the year) is to be more relaxed and not get so stressed when things are unplanned or plans change at the last minute. Great giveaway 😀
Happy New year! I have a few goals. First is to organize my children’s photos into scrapbooks. Second is to incorporate more yoga and weight lifting into my workouts.
My January goal is to put one foot in front of the other, on the tread mill, out side, and in all other aspects of my life. I too am playing with Gayle in the 50/50 pact so that means I will lose at least 4 lbs in January.
Hi!
I have never commented on your blog before, but this is such a wonderful idea so I wanted to participate. My goal for January is simple, yet so important. I want to stop and remember how far I have come in incorporating a healthy lifestyle. Losing weight was amazing, but nothing compared to how I FEEL now that I am so much healthier. I am still roughly 10 pounds away from my ultimate goal…..but my motivation really is remembering how hard I have worked to get here and how proud of mylself I truly am. Thanks, Biz, for allowing me to stop and even think about all of this today! Now that I have commented once, I look forward to commenting again in the future 🙂
My goal is to do my stretches 3x week and walk outside at least 3x week. Also to cut desserts down to special occasions.
i started my fitness program january 1…will lose 50 pounds by end of 2009. in january, i am walking 5 miles a day and not eating junk food. goodbye candy and cookies……i’ll miss you. sigghh!!!!
I am doing couch to 5K and writing down everything I eat!
Sounds like you have some great goals there! For me, I just want to try to eat more whole foods, and less sugar. Quite a challenge for me, to say the least! 😉
Happy new year!
My goal for January is to log my calories/Points intake daily (after a 2-week holiday lapse)! This is the make-it-or-break-it point in a diet for me, getting through the “slump.” Happy New Year and I know you can accomplish your goals!
I am going to eat less chocolate. Perhaps I will try with not having chocolate every day, perhaps less each day until I can cut it out completely, except now I am thinking I should just go cold turkey. I don’t know! I need a goal that is obtainable. I will decide in the morning and stick with it for the day.
I’m with you on the water….32 ounces/day. I do really well during the week at work, but at home, I rarely drink water.
I’ve to face the fact that I’m addicted to reading blogs. 🙂 So my resolution is to limit my internet time so I can spend more talking time with my mom and also to pick up my volunteering commitment. I took the first step tonight by filling out an application!
My goal is to stop all after diner snacks. I also have a goal of winning the powerball lottery, but the snacks hold a better chance of happening.
Oh Biz, I’d be happy to be in your blogroll and I’m returning the favor.
My goal is to lose 4 lbs, drink more water and exercise at least 5 days a week.
If I won that cool water bottle, it would make drinking water more enjoyable!

Wow I’m excited about your giveaway!!
My goal for January is to do the month-long workout from Oxygen magazine every day- it’s short and quick, so it’ll be enough to keep me moving.
Another goal I have is to finish my story by the end of January. I’ve only got a couple chapters left to go and I’ve been feeling really inspired lately, and I don’t want to put it off for months- if I give myself a deadline I’ll be able to get myself into the zone more and work really hard on it.
What a great giveaway! Your goals are great! I am going to try at to do ab exercises at least 5 days a week.

A realistic goal for me for January would be to go out on a date. I know that sounds kind of pathetic, but all I am asking for is one date and I don’t even care if it leads anywhere, I just need to get out of the house…lol….
