We went to lunch at a diner type restaurant where they serve breakfast all day long.  It was interesting because their “weight watchin” menu items were:

  • boiled chicken with cottage cheese (yeah, that’s right – boiled!)
  • butt steak with cottage cheese
  • tuna salad with cottage cheese
  • chicken salad with cottage cheese

I ended up getting a tossed salad with Greek dressing on the side and a cup of chicken noodle soup.  It was pretty decent, even if most of the salad was iceberg lettuce with a few sprinkles of fresh spinach.  No picture as the camera was at home. :O(

But my mom and daugther both got breakfast, which looked amazing.  My mom’s especially – corned beef hash and scrambled eggs.  Somehow they get this perfect crispness on the outside, while being soft on the inside – I did sneak a tiny bite!  But I think corned beef hash is hands down my favorite breakfast food.

I had to wait 45 minutes for my doctor appointment – the only good thing was that my daughter was with me and I have fun trying to make her laugh!

We got home, and since I only did 30 minutes of treadmill this morning, we decided to take the dog for a walk.  There are some pretty steep hills by our house and as we walked down one, I decided I was going to sprint up the hill 25 feet up, walk down and repeat as many times as I could.  I did it FIVE TIMES!  I was so proud of myself!

Just as we were walking back up the drive, the dog raced ahead and I couldn’t hold onto his leash.  Guess what he was trying to eat?  Luckily, my daughter saved him:

Off to go light the grill . . .
