Rudy’s BBQ Chichen Legs

Rudy’s BBQ Chichen Legs
I love not having to think about breakfast this week – day 3 yesterday of a muffin on my way to work and a slice of the breakfast casserole mid morning. I’ve been storing the muffins in a ziploc bag so they stay fresher longer.  Just 20 seconds in the microwave and it tastes just like it came out of the oven. I wore a...

The Love of Football

The Love of Football
I didn’t go grocery shopping until Sunday so Tony was only able to make me breakfast on Saturday morning.  He declared that he was using the last of the eggs so on Sunday “I was on my own for breakfast.” Spicy spinach eggs, spicy hash browns and a jalapeno jelly bagel.  This was my breakfast and lunch.  So spicy good! I hit up the library...

Sweat Beard & Stache

Sweat Beard & Stache
The drive to work yesterday was gorgeous.  It was 55 degrees and sunny, the first awesome fall day if you ask me. I heated up a poppy seed muffin in the microwave for 20 seconds – tasted just like it came out of the oven.  I enjoyed that with my to go coffee on the way to work. I always have to laugh at my...

14 Pounds

14 Pounds
I have to think that breakfast nachos are one of my favorite breakfasts, and somehow I forget about it.  It’s fun, easy and delicious.  Yesterday I cooked 3/4 cup egg whites with 3/4 cup of spinach and just cooked it in my 6 inch skillet with a lid on until it was cooked through. When I got to work, I assembled it.  I put the...

101 Days of Insanity!

101 Days of Insanity!
I got up yesterday morning and walked outside for just under 40 minutes.  Our Chicagoland weather is so weird – yesterday we hit a record 95 degrees for a high, and at 6:30 in the morning it was already 80 degrees and very humid. While I don’t mind the heat per se, it’s September so my mind has already made the flip to beef stew,...

You vs. I Can’t

You vs. I Can’t
The night before last I realized that my food was already ready for the day, my gym bag was packed, my pictures were downloaded for the blog post yesterday and since I can type 130 words per minute, I knew it wasn’t going to take me 90 minutes to write my post, shower and get out the door. So I got my ass out the...

Doing Nothing is Easier

Doing Nothing is Easier
After my two day rest over the weekend, and then starting back to exercise on Tuesday, I kept thinking to myself, doing nothing is so much easier!  It’s a lot easier to think about what you should do, want to do, etc., then it is to actually do it. But success doesn’t come without work.  Making each day the best you can be will be...

Rest and Relaxation

Rest and Relaxation
Was the theme of this long weekend.  We had no specific plans and it was wonderful.  No where to be, no expectations.  I have the gift of sleep people.  I think both Friday and Saturday night I slept about 11 hours!  Saturday morning I woke up around 7 and Tony had the t.v. on.  I told him “it’s too early to get up” and shut...

Music Makes Me Happy

Music Makes Me Happy
Thanks for all the comments, emails, Facebook messages etc. about my last post.   You guys are the best!  You’ll be happy to know that my pity party of one is over and I am just going to concentrate on all the good stuff I’ve got going on in my life. It’s still makes me laugh when I look at my menu plan for the end...

I cracked.

I cracked.
I try very hard to hold it all together.  Like all the time.  I figure if I am strong it will help everyone around me. But yesterday was a rough day.  I kind of lost it.  Turns out wine and nachos didn’t solve my problems.  So I am dusting myself off and moving on.  Last day of the outdoor pool! I’ll be fine.
