Since I had four hours overtime earlier this week, I decided to take a half day – it works out perfectly because my SIL and nieces are in from Texas! They have been staying at my mom’s house – which is about an hour away from us.
Hannah’s picking me up around noon – then we will garage sale our way to my mom’s house for dinner – which I can’t wait for – my mom is making her chicken and biscuits!! I have tried to recreate her magic with this dish, but I don’t come close.
Another thing I am hoping to do is stop by Whole Foods by my mom’s too. It’s been so long since I’ve been there – definitely going to get more quinoa – what are your must haves at Whole Foods?
This morning I give you another episode of egg sammie! This time my meat of choice is an 1.5 ounce of deli corned beef, quite possibly the best of all lunch meats! I wonder if I could make a Reuben egg white sammie?? I’ll have to think about that one!
Breakfast comes in at 309 calories, 11 fat, 39 protein, 24 carbs and 8.7 fiber!
Not sure what Hannah and I are going to have for lunch today – you’ll just have to come back later and find out!
Morning break is over – see you this afternoon!
I love the coconut milk ice cream! MAJOR yum!
Wow, that looks soooo good!!! Can I have a bite please?? I think a reuben egg white sammie would be great (although I hate rye bread..) but with sour kraut, nothing is bad!
Gosh that sammie looks great! I’m craving cheese now!
Have fun going to garage sales, that’s so much fun!
I just bought Lundbergs brown rice chips in the santa fe bbq flavor- sooo good, they taste like doritos!
Mmmm… Whole Foods… Definitely try some farro (a grain – I have a great recipe for it on my blog.) Last trip I bought Peanut Butter Puffins, Justin’s Maple Almond Butter (YUM!), greek yogurt, and pappadums (which I made Sunday and mentioned in my blog today). If you’re looking to totally blow your diet they carry a fabulous butter with sea salt in it. I forget the name brand but it’s made in Vermont. I know I don’t even need to mention the cheese department. 🙂 I’m so excited for you!! maggieapril of http://www.tastenotwaist.com
Looking at your sandwich is making my tummy rumble!
Ah, Whole Paycheck! Er, I mean, Whole *Foods*. Ahem. It’s on the same block as my work. So is the gym, thank goodness; I think I’ve paid for my gym membership this year already by spending more time there (and bringing my lunch) than at WF.
That said, it’s nice to have someplace close to pick up something healthy for lunch on the days I don’t bring from home. I buy my chia there (it has a weird texture, but I do enjoy it in tea and coffee) and my Greek-style yogurt (cheaper than the Safeway nearer to my house, and more brands). Oh, I also get whey protein powder for smoothies there. Great produce, too, and they have the Alvarado Street Bakery flax bread that I enjoy. Once in awhile I splurge on some fancy cheese, or smoked fish for my hubby.
that looks so delicious and thick and yummie!!!!
that egg sammie looks amazing! and your bread last night….man. I wish I could just grab it out of the computer screen 🙂
Have fun at WFs! We don’t have one, so I have no clue what to tell you 🙂
Have fun at WFs!! That’s where I usually restock my bar collection. Hooray for a half day 🙂
I really wish we had a Whole Foods or Trader Joes near here. (I am really a grocery store addict..lol)
The day that I go to Whole Foods for the first time, you will be hearing ALL about it 🙂 Half days are the best!
yum sammie!
Your food always looks so GREAT. Where do you buy your Reduced Fat Cabot? I’ve been looking high and low for it because you have me totally sold on it.
I don’t go to Whole Foods very often because of the prices, but I do get a lot of bulk couscous there. I love their fruit, but sometimes the prices make me wanna resort to a life of crime.
At my local grocery store called Dominick’s – they just had a big remodel and have this HUGE cheese section now. 😀
YAY for 1/2 days! I love the feeling at noon when you realize, “hey, I can leave now!”
Have fun garage saling!
