Okay, remember the part about me not sleeping in recently? Well, I went to bed at 11:15 last night – a mere 15 minutes later than usual for me. I woke up wide awake at 7:15. I stayed up for about 20 minutes, checked out Facebook, Tony was still sleeping so I thought “why not go back to bed another hour and then get up and take an hour walk around the neighborhood?” Well I woke up at 10:45! Yowza! Must have needed the sleep I guess!
You wouldn’t know it was July by our weather, but I am not complaining one bit. If I could find a place to live where it was in the 50s in the morning and only got to the mid 70s during the day, I would move there in a heartbeat!
Breakfast yesterday was another egg white McMuffin – this time with spinach and havarti jalapeno cheese. I need to buy more blueberries this weekend, these were so sweet they tasted like candy!
When I left for the gym it was a perfect 72 degrees.
On tap for strength was shoulders. Holy balls, another tough workout. I almost wanted to cut each set short, but I didn’t. I did everything until it got to the car drivers. Do you know what those are? You take a 25 pound plate that goes on a barbell and you hold it straight out in front of you and you turn the plate like it’s a steering wheel for 30 seconds at a time, for 3 sets. Um, no way in hell after finishing the rest of the workout was I using a 25 pound weight – I did it with 10 pounds yet I still felt it! I got several emails in the past couple days asking what program I am doing – I am just finishing up week 4 of 12 weeks of free workouts. Check out Bite Size Army and sign up for free and get all the workouts and her nutrition. Once you sign up, go to “Lastest Posts” and you’ll have the first four weeks of workouts.
I am realizing that I haven’t been keeping up with the ab routines – they are supposed to be done a minimum of 2 times a week – I need to step that up next week. I ended the workout with a 1.25 mile run.
And it was even more gorgeous on my way back to the office – I was so close to ditching the afternoon at work, but I am a responsible adult, so I begrudgingly went back. Isn’t that a great word ; begrudgingly?! Ha!
I ended up having more lasagna soup – delish!
I had a couple ideas for dinner – fish stick tacos, grilled chicken caesar salad, chicken fried rice, but when Tony said “how about ordering a pizza” you know I never turn down pizza! Sausage, pepperoni and bacon – perfection!
Since I was doing arms for strength, I didn’t get in all my steps, but not too bad!
We don’t really have a whole lot planned for this weekend – my first weekend not working at the restaurant since December – woop! I have a couple projects I’d like to get done – clean the back part of our basement – it tends to be a dumping ground for things that don’t really have a home, and I am confident I can throw half of the shit away. My desk needs a makeover again too. I also hope to see Hannah tomorrow if she doesn’t have to work – I miss her face! It’s not the same seeing her on Facetime.
I am taking a blogging break, but I’ll be back on Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Hugs!
Hope you had a great weekend, must be very pleasant that you didn’t have to work this weekend.
You are so good with your work outs Biz – I admire how you stick with it. I really enjoy your sky and cloud photos. Hope you have enjoyed your first weekend of not having to work at the restaurant and getting to spend more time with Tony!
La Jolla or San Diego, California. I know I’ve told you this before so stop ignoring what I’m saying!
Ha – love it! Well, when you send me some money so I can live there, I’ll take your advice! 😀
That sky is gorgeous! I don’t blame you for not wanting to go back to work 😀
We’ve had perfect weather this whole weekend – love it!
Oh – I’ve never done car drivers – definitely need to try those – shoulders are my weakest area!!!
They have really helped my shoulder pain – before I started back to strength training, my shoulders would literally ache for a couple hours after I woke up – now the pain is gone!
That “place” would be La Jolla, California. Let me tell you, though, that the weather gets very boring after awhile. We lived there for four years. It is beautiful. And, very expensive!!
Happy 4th to you.
Best,
Bonnie
i was going to say, not sure I could afford to live in California! I remember watching a show on HGTV – what $500,000 could buy you across the country.
In Montana? You could buy a 20 acre lot with a 5,000 square foot house – in California, a tiny 2 bedroom 1200 square foot house on no lot at all. Crazy!
Move here Biz! 52* this morning! and at @11:00 it’s 66*. Suppose to get up to 72 here today.
I’m still recovering from Tonys post yesterday, I need warning though when he posts…… So I have a pee pad ready!! (Sorry) I laughed all day about it!
Have a fun, relaxing weekend and 4th, you deserve it FRIEND!!
Some day M.J. we’ll make it up there for a visit – I keep showing the pictures to Tony of what your beautiful lake looks like – he’s jealous!
Happy 4th Biz and enjoy the weekend…..blogger breaks are good, refreshes the mind. Beautiful blue skies and white clouds there in South Barrington.
And yes, perfect weather to me would be 50 degrees in the morning and 72 degrees during the day. Today is beautiful and 78 degrees, need to get some work done around the house and maybe grill some hamburgers today.
Have a great day.
I actually have pizza burgers on my menu this week – well, for me – I think Tony would throw up in his mouth at the thought of those!
Happy 4th to you and Tony!!! Enjoy the rest, you deserve it!!!!
Thanks Roz!
Do you like cherries? I was in Aldi yesterday and they had Ranier cherries on sale(til next Tuesday) for 1.89 /lb! Normally they are around 5.00 lb and last week when I was in Jewel they had them on SALE for 7.99!!! No way on the world was I paying $7.99 for a pound of cherries. I won’t eat red cherries but Rainier cherries, yummmmmm. Enjoy your 3 day weekend and take some time to do stuff you love, you deserve it! : )
What?! Those are our favorite cherries! Going to hit up Aldi today – thanks for the heads up!
