We have had some chilly mornings – yesterday it was 50 degrees when I left the house, but truth be told, I think that’s my favorite temperature. If I could live somewhere where it was between 50 and 75 degrees all the time, I would totally move there. Poor Tony though is still sleeping under our down comforter!
Breakfast was delish – kind of savory and sweet! I made an egg beater ‘”omelet.” I am putting omelet in quotes because it doesn’t look too pretty, but I added chopped cilantro and some muenster cheese in it. On the side – a mini caramel apple parfait – one container Chobani plain yogurt, one small apple diced, 1 teaspoon sugar free pancake syrup, 2 tablespoons whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce – I ate that last and it tasted like a breakfast dessert!
It was still cool by lunch time – 61 degrees so I knew I was walking. Going to take advantage before the heat is in the 90s and I have to go to the gym. This time I had sunscreen AND a hat.
I like listening to fast paced music – makes me walk faster! All was well until I started to smell something and almost before I stepped right on it, I saw a dead raccoon that had a zillion flies on it – ew! I couldn’t get across the street fast enough!
I had leftover steak from my salad the night before – I ended up making beef tostadas – pretty sure I could eat some variation of this every day.
[amd-zlrecipe-recipe:46]How delicious do those look? Redic.
I got home from work and Tony was enjoying a cigar outside – um, guess who decided after spending five days in the hospital last week to mow the lawn? Yep – Tony! I think he did it without me because he hates how I mow – in the 13 years we’ve lived here, I think I’ve mowed the lawn 4 or 5 times?! Thanks Tony – it looks great!
Tony always has a stash of peanuts, but in case Kyle or Lyle decide to get too close – he’s got peanuts to use as weapons!
We ended up hanging out outside while I grilled up some chicken.
I may or may not have added a bit of hot sauce to my plate.
My step-son sent me this cute picture of his dog Taquito – how cute is he??!! I like how you can see their other dog Cinnamon Bun’s white paw touching Taquito.
And because of my fast paced walk at lunch, had no trouble getting in my 10,000 steps!
I ended up making a cream of celery soup for lunch today. It’s supposed to be eaten cold, but when I tasted it warm I quite liked it – we’ll see if I end up eating it cold later on today. If it’s good, I’ll post the recipe tomorrow. My blog friend Helen had that cold celery soup when she was in St. Martin, and I’ve been intrigued with the idea since she posted it!
Alright, time to get this show on the road – make it a great day!
Well you want to live somewhere where it’s between 50 and 75 degrees? I’ll tell you where to go: The Netherlands!
Those temperatures are pretty common all year round here. You already have a girlfriend here if you decide to move here 🙂
It kind of wiped him out for a bit, but he’s very particular about our lawn – I’ve only mowed it 5 times in 13 years!
Actually, the chicken breast is deceiving, there was quite a bit of meat on it. 😀
Yes, that temperature all the time would be spectacular. Wow, on the yard work. Has Tony been cleared for that? I think Cinnamon Bun is feeling the love to Taquito too. I see stuff like that and it makes me want a dog. What a small portion for dinner. You have some willpower 🙂
As long as there’s no snow I’m happy 🙂
Good job on the grass Tony!
Especially after this winter we had, I couldn’t agree more!
Biz, I think you could eat some version of Mexican quesadillas or tacos for breakfast lunch and dinner. And for dessert you could make a dessert quesadilla with Chobani! Tell Tony the yard looks great!
Dessert quesadilla – yep, that would be perfect!
Yup, I could live in that temp range too!
Awww, love Taquito!
Me too, but Tony would never approve of a pug for us – they are pretty noisy dogs!
The tostadas look awesome!!!
Your yard looks great – glad Tony is feeling better!
Thanks Kim – enjoy your weekend!
I agree… I’d like it to be about 73 at all times. With a slight breeze if I’m outside exercising or working 🙂
Can’t wait to see you next week Karli!
I think that dog is adorable!!!
I know, right?!
I’m so sorry Tony ended up back in the hospital! I’m just getting on my laptop so I can leave comments (is such a PITA on my phone/iPad). Looks like he is def feeling better!
Thanks Kim – yep, I agree, trying to comment on my iPhone is a PITA too!
I am with you on the temperature…50-70’s….nice. When you find that place, let me know….I think it would be heavenly!!!
I am glad you guys are enjoying your back yard…..it’s your healing garden you know.
Food looks good. I found a book at Shopko, “2 day diabetes Diet” the cover says in just 3 weeks: lose up to 12 lbs and lower your blood sugar by up to 32 points……it’s worth a try.
There is a recipe for carrot soup….I must try. If it turns out good I will blog it. Have a great day.
Ha, if you find a place like that first Louise – let us know! And yes, you couldn’t have said it better – our backyard is our Healing Garden!
Let me know about the carrot soup – sending good vibes JPs way too! 😀
The temps went down here last night, too. I slept SO GOOD!!!!
Keep it up with those steps, Biz!
I love it when the air is a bit chilly at night in the summer. 😀
Your food always looks so good! Super jealous! And that carmel parfait!!!!! YUM!!!! I need to do that!!
Ahem… *caramel (whoops…typing too fast)
No worries – yep, the caramel parfait is great – the smaller one without the granola doesn’t spike my blood sugar as much. Enjoy our weekend weather Amanda!
50-75 year round would be my ultimate dream.
I love those chilled soups, I really do. The carrot one was delicious too!
Your toe must be feeling a lot better if you’re out walking fast like that.
Maybe a carrot soup I would like chilled, but I loved the celery soup warmed up – so good!
Yep, my toe feels 1000 better, I am so glad I finally sucked it up and went to the foot doctor, I should have done it a couple months ago.
