It’s 4:15 and I am just sitting down! The day started with our weekly trip to the CSA – and the bounty this week was really good! I have to sort through it, so I’ll post what I got at dinner.
Hannah didn’t want to go to the farm, but wanted to meet us for breakfast. We told her to leave 15 minutes after we did so we would get to the restaurant at the same time. Um, apparently she fell back asleep! Tony and I were reading the paper and drinking coffee for about 30 minutes before I called her and she was just leaving the house!
I got my usual, two eggs, bacon and wheat toast – and I may have had a few bites of hashbrowns!
Then I was off to meet my Mom for lunch. We decided on Big Bowl, which we both love. I wasn’t all that hungry considering how late we ate breakfast, but we decided to split a bowl of vegetable won ton soup – it was so light and had tinges of ginger and lemongrass.
Then we went to Land’s End Inlet – my mom got a pair of shoes and I got a sports bra (kind of like a sports bra shirt) for $11! Next we went to Marshall’s – I needed another pair of sheets and scored when I found a queen size set for $19.99! I did find these in the foodie aisle – I could spend all day in that aisle!
I am off again, gotta get the new sheets in the washer and organize my upstairs freezer – its a mess! 😀 Come on back for dinner – Filet Mignon with Shrimp Scampi!
I was reading your blog and got carried away reading it. You are being great about your food budget and the way you break down your food is inspiring.
You do eat more meat than we do, though, so my shopping should be less but………
Thanks! My husband is a meat eater – if it were up to me and Hannah, we could get away with pasta and breakfast for dinner! 😀
I visit..TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, and Homegoods….nearly EVERY week. I love the food aisle and the household aisles. I collect Eiffel Towers and have found like 8 there in the last 2 months…FUN
My local grocery store has the rice papers. I have had spring rolls on my menu for some time. Thanks for the reminder.
Those Spring Rolls look so good!
We don’t have a Marshalls, but we do have TJ Maxx (I may have mentioned it once or twice ;)) and I love their food and cookware aisles!
LOVE Marshall’s food aisle! I found tons of coffee there once and I’ve been obsessed ever since 🙂
I love Marshall’s for food too. Sometimes you can find some really unusual things!
You lunch looks great. I’d totally eat the mushrooms though 😉 Does your grocery store have an ethnic/Asian food section? That’s where I get my rice paper. They seem to carry them in all the grocery stores here, but I guess we really have a large Asian influence on the west coast.
Thanks Marianne – I’ll check there – are they refrigerated?
Marshall’s has a food aisle?? I guess I haven’t been there in a long time!
I love Marshall’s – the miscellaneous food and kitchen stuff aisles are the best!!! I’ve found some real treasures there. The only bad part is you never can find the stuff again!
