The tortillas turned out really good, even though they were small! The dough is just a mixture of Masa flour and water. I found my Masa flour at Walmart, so it should be readily available. I was happy to use my tortilla press I got for my birthday!

When we were at the Mexican restaurant yesterday, we ate this delicious salsa, and we asked what was in it. Tony found a similar recipe online and it was delicious!! I think Hannah’s exact words were “don’t ever lose this recipe!” Of course, I made a couple modifications, no onioms, and I used lime juice instead of lemon juice. These babies make the salsa extra refreshing and bright:

Avocado Salsa
- 2 ripe avocado
- 4 tomatillos, cut in half
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaves
- juice of one lime
- 1/2 jalapeno, seeded
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 large garlic golves
Process in food processor until nice and creamy. The whole recipe comes in at 797 calories, 64 fat, 68 carbs, 15 fiber and 13 protein. I used about 1 tablespoon per taco, and probably ate three tablespoons while making dinner and cleaning up!
Okay, one more post for tonight and that is my BSI recipe!!
I’ve wanted a tortilla press forever. Must… get.. bigger… kitchen! Your tortillas look perfect, and the salsa sounds just like I like it– fresh and bright. Yum yum!
Whooooo fresh tortillas!
wow thanks for showing us about the tortillas! i SO BADLY want to make my own, i bet yours tasted amazinggggg. i love doughy tortillas!
The salsa looks great. I love onions, but can’t eat them raw. I usually put scallions or chopped grilled onions in my salsas. They add a lot of flavor and I can digest them. I’ve never made my own tortillas. You make it look so easy.
This looks so good, I’ve never made my own tortillas, but I know that there are few things better!
Nothing like homemade tortillas. Yours look perfect. Do you do mail order?
That avocado salsa sounds incredible – next time I get the cooking bug I’m going to have to test that out!
Great avocado recipe 🙂
Awesome avocado salsa. Do you have the link to the original recipe? Or if you could let us know how much onion it was supposed to have, since I would probably add it back in, and leave out the cilantro.
And the tortilla press looks like fun. It must be very satisfying to make your own.
It called for 1 small onion, diced. It didn’t specify what type of onion though, but I guess any white onion would do! 😀
I love avacado’s and I’ve made green salsa, just never put the two together!
That looks awesome!
Woah! Avocado salsa looks awesome, I’m bookmarking this!
NAOmni

Told you! EASY PEASY!!! I need a tortilla press 🙂
That looks really good! I never would have thought about an avocado salsa.
