That’s my blood sugar today! I woke up at 69, and ate 1 ounce of puffins with 2 ounces of skim milk. I was sore when I got up, so didn’t do my morning workout, and I hadn’t made my food yet for the day anyway, so then I had time this morning to get that together.
An hour later my blood sugar was 171. I didn’t take any insulin, but I guess with not working out, I should have taken it, so I took 4 units to balance it out. At any rate, by the time I got to work, my blood sugar was 51 and falling! I should have waited two hours after my low this morning to take adjustments. Stupid mistake.
But I just had a fabulous breakfast! Banana oat pancake:

- 1/3 cup oats
- 1 ounce banana
- 1 egg white
- 2 tablespoons fat free half and half
- 2 tablespoons Fage yogurt
- 1 tablespoon flour
- pinch salt
- 1/4 cup sugar free syrup
Just mix it all together for your batter. I decided to make one giant pancake. It took a little longer to cook than regular batter, maybe 6 minutes total? SO GOOD! And filling too. We’ll see how long this lasts.
I think this is the best sugar free syrup – I’ve tried a lot. It doesn’t have an aftertaste like some of the other ones.
The plan is to walk and watch FoodTv at lunch for 45 minutes.
That’s great about the running! I’m so anxious to try to do more than I’m doing on the C25K, but they say to not go further, even if you think you can, or you can hurt yourself. But I want to! WAH!!! This thing is teaching me patience as well as perserverance. You’d think one would overrule the other: I want to run more vs. Keep running. 😛
Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the syrup! I’m always looking for a good one. I can’t remember the brand of the last one we used that was so good. Maybe it was Eggo Lite or something like that? It wasn’t SF, though. I’ll have to give this one a try next time I need a bottle.
Let me know what they are Charlie! I’m curious.
What an awesome avatar I have —–>
I’ll have to try the Mrs. Butterworths. I agree with you on the aftertaste. Blecch.
And that reminds me, I haven’t checked blood sugars for a few weeks now. Better get right back on that.
