Skinny Dip

It’s my next to last summer beer, but boy, is it good.  I first tried Fat Tire in Austin where my brother and sister-in-law live.  Then I found it when I came back home.  It is a very full bodied beer, so you can only drink one or two.  Well, imagine my surprise when they came out with Skinny Dip, their “light” beer.  It comes...

Perfect Fall Morning

Sunny and 49 degrees this morning!  Love it!  And the leaves are starting to change. At first Ed didn’t want to have anything to do with me.  He took my spot in bed when I drove my daughter to work.  Eventually he came out, so it was a short walk, maybe 20 minutes?  And no work out at lunch. . .I have a dentist appointment. ...

Oven Fried Chicken

Okay, when I told my husband that we were having oven fried chicken for dinner, I MAYBE should have told him that it was oven fried chicken BREASTS! I found this recipe online at www.recipezaar.com (Recipe # 82102).  In order to bring down the calories just a bit, I dipped my chicken breasts in 1/3 cup fat free half and half instead of the butter. ...

Stuffed Pepper Lunch

Not a way to start the day . . .

My husband picked up a message on our answering machine this morning saying that there would be no bus service for school because of a house fire that was on the next street over. I immediately got the dog, grabbed the camera and headed up the street.  As soon as I turned right, and saw the firetrucks at the top of the hill.  I knew...

Lazy dinner. . .

After coming home, putting the groceries away, chopping up the tomatoes, etc. I decided to make a simple meal tonight.  My daughter LOVES turkey cheddar brats.  They are Johnsonville brand and each one is only 120 calories and 6 grams of fat.  The more charred the better! I cut up one potato, drizzled with a little olive oil and french fry seasoning and oven baked...

It was bound to happen sooner or later. . .

Yes, after seeing the commercials, and being out and about with my daughter today, I had to try the Volcano Taco.  It was VERY spicy, which I loved.  I ordered two, but only ate one because I didn’t have the nutritional information.  SO GLAD I checked when I got home – each taco is 240 calories, and 17 grams of fat!  But it satisfied my...
