Election Day!

So we live in an unincorporated part of town, and last time voted at the library.  So after I dropped Hannah off to school, I drove to the library.  It was PACKED!  So I waited in line for a few minutes, only to find out I AM IN THE WRONG PLACE!  I need to vote at the Catholic Church – that is right across the...

More menu shenanigans!

I came home today to find these new additions to the chalkboard menu!  Then this on the bottom:  Hannah was the culprit this time! Tonight’s menu if you looked closely to yesterdays post was chili baked potatoes and salad.  To which Tony’s response was “then what’s for dinner?”  I ended up cooking him up a 1/2 pound burger as his base, with the chili and...

Summer day

It was already 60 degrees when I took Ed for his walk this morning.  I found one more tree that still had leaves on it!  And because its yellow (my second favorite color) I had to take a picture!   The river was really still this morning: Breakfast was a usual ham/egg/cheese muffin – about 300 calories, 30 carbs. Hope everyone had a great weekend! ...

Beef, its what’s for dinner

So the beef stew turned out well, but I should have added the vegetables at the beginning, not the last 45 minutes because some of the potatoes and carrots weren’t fully cooked.  I got the recipe on www.recipezaar.com Recipe # 36984.   Then I put then in a ziploc bag that had the flour, pepper and seasoned salt. The original recipe called for 1/4 cup of...

Popcorn 101

Tony, hands down, makes the best popcorn.  Our popcorn of choice this time of year?  Boy Scout popcorn!  It’s all white kernals and it pops up really well.  This time of year they sell it outside of grocery stores and Sams’s Club.  Our second favorite is Orville Redenbacher. The secret to Tony’s popcorn?  No lid.  We use a mesh screen – that way the popcorn...

Crap Fair

Yep, I spelled that right.  the CRAFT fair was just CRAP!  First of all, it was about 1/10th the size of last years, and it was mostly retail stuff – I would have to say that 10% of it was actually handmade things!  The only thing I got at this fair was a snowman apron – I wore it while putting dinner together! My mom...

Tony loves me!

He said he had a special present for me when I got home from work . . . I couldn’t guess so I just had to wait until I got home. And this is what I found!  This baby is HEAVY!  I weighed it on my scale and it comes in at 15 pounds!  Tony is going to christen it today for his dinner menu.  ...

I only had

one trick or treater tonight by the time I got home from work.  Tony only gave out six pieces of candy before I came home.  We were even sitting on our deck, bowl of candy in sight, and people walked right by us!  So since I thought we’d be sitting outside, and I really didn’t feel like cooking tonight, we ordered a pizza! Yes, I...
