Tony was right. . .

about the cheesecake cooking method, as witnessed from the results of my poll the other day.   So I am publicly admitting that I was wrong and he was right!  Now I just want to have cheesecake! I ended up going to Jimmy John’s for Tony.  I specifically asked for no onions and as soon as I brought him his sammie he’s like “I smell onions!”  Sure...

Sunny breakfast

So I am back to work today.   I only had 198 emails!   Since I was home these last few days, our lunch meat is depleted so I am going to pick up Subway for Tony today.  Even though I was sick, it was nice being home with him! Breakfast this morning is 1.5 ounce of my homemade bread (although since it was made last weekend,...

So the wait begins. . .

So Tony’s doctor appointment went as well as we could have expected.  Now we wait three more weeks (without antibiotics) and then he goes back.  They will take fluid from his knee and make sure the infection is gone.  We have a standing date at the end of March to have his knee replaced, so fingers crossed everything works out!  So no pics of breakfast or lunch –...

Chicago-Style Italian Roast Beef

I adapted a recipe from Cook’s Country, only due to the size of our roast, which was 3 pounds. 3 teaspoons garlic powder 3 teaspoons dried oregano 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon pepper 1 3-pound sirloin roast, fat trimmed (mine already was trimmed) 2 tablespoons oil, divided 1 onion, chopped fine (not!) 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon flour 2 cups low-sodium beef broth...

Tots and Stirfry (is stirfry one or two words??)

I had to cook up the rest of the steak tartare so I ended up making a burger for Tony.  What’s a burger without tots?  Tots always reminds me of Napoleon Dynomite: Randy: Napoleon, give me some of your tots. Napoleon Dynamite: No, go find your own. Randy: Come on, give me some of your tots. Napoleon Dynamite: No, I’m freakin’ starving! I didn’t get...

Fancy Frittata

So since my doctor wanted me to stay home from work today, I had more time to put my breakfast together.  I started out by Pam/oil frying (about 1 teaspoon oil) one serving of frozen hash browns.  I cooked them just until the bottom got crispy.  Then I poured in 1/2 cup egg whites, a couple tablespoons of diced red pepper, handful of spinach and 1/2...

We have a diagnosis!

Acute Bronchitis!  I googled it and this is the picture I found.  If I was a man, this is what I would look like coughing! So my doctor, in an attempt to save me time, did not write out a prescription, but said he would call it in.  That way it would be ready by the time I got there.  He asked which pharmacy, I...
