I slept in until 9:15 on Saturday morning.  That like never happens to me anymore. I am usually up at 7:00 at the latest without an alarm on the weekend.  But my cough is still lingering – I know its acute bronchitis and other than drinking lots of fluids and resting, not much you can do but let it run it’s course.

I “unofficially” weighed in at home – I am up .4 for the last two weeks.  Maintenance Queen!  I’ll take it though.  I’ve just been going through the motions with Weight Watchers the last few weeks, so I can’t expect much.  It’s all good though!

And yes, well aware that I need a pedicure – that nail polish is hanging on for dear life though.  Hannah was like “Mom, why the hell did you post your toes looking like that?”  Oh, that’s because I don’t care what people think. šŸ˜€

My house was built in 1922 and Tony was in charge of the house.  I remember coming home from work one day and he let me know that the water heater went out, and not only did he replace it, but he sodered (how the hell do you spell that word?) new piping with a blow torch and I was like “how the fuck did you know how to do that?!”

We have well water that requires a water softener and our shut off valve for the house feeds into the water softener.  I went down to the basement to a mini flood – see that little piece with the hole in it?  It was gushing water.  I shut the water off temporarily and when Hannah and Jacob woke up from a nap, I told them we had a situation on our hands.

Jacob’s Dad has a plumber friend. Hannah got a hold of his number, texted him pictures of what was going on and the plumber said “I just saved you a bunch of money, just that piece with the hole in it needs to be replaced.”  I think he called it a shut off waste valve?!  I have no idea.  All I know is that Hannah and Jacob went to the hardware store, spent .83 cents for a replacement valve, screwed it in and it worked!  Apparently there is a gasket inside that valve and that was what failed.  Crisis averted!

I’ve talked about this before, but I always bake a few baked potatoes on the weekend to have later in the week.  They can be used for breakfast baked potatoes, cut into fries, make twice baked potatoes – the possibilities are endless.

I rubbed with a bit of olive oil, sprinkled with everything but the bagel seasoning and baked for one hour at 400 degrees.

I decided to make a potato crusted quiche for breakfast yesterday and to have breakfast three more times this week.

Using a good quality cheese really makes this quiche.  Worth the points!

Hannah had her cleaning pants on yesterday and cleaned out the fridge.  I swear we didn’t do it that long ago and yet we still threw out condiments that expired LAST SUMMER.  WTF.

It looks pretty now – thanks Hannah!  She even organized my insulin pens šŸ˜€

And last night when I was watching the Oscars, Hannah organized the deep freezer.

This freezer inventory is taped to the inside of one of the kitchen cabinets, and I was told I needed to be sure to cross stuff off this freezer list as I use it.  I already know what I making for dinner based on this list – Jessica from How Sweet Eats Buffalo Wing Shrimp and Grits – sounds amazing, doesn’t it?!

Looks so pretty!

Jacob’s Dad got an air fryer from a woman who he did some floor work about a year ago.  It’s been sitting in a box in his house for a year and asked Hannah and Jacob if they wanted it, and I was shocked as shit that Hannah said yes – she’s always trying to get me to get rid of my kitchen stuff!  I am curious to see how the mini chicken wontons work in an air fryer.  Have you tried it??  Do you have an air fryer?

I did spend some down time resting.  The dogs are the best at that. šŸ˜€

Rummy sat looking outside for about 20 minutes.

And we are back to Monday – wah.  And it’s cold again and word on the street is we might get some snow tonight.  Um, I am ready for spring though!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend – make it a great day!
