Tony and I are really good about getting our flu shots each fall.  I usually use my sick days for wellness doctor appointments.  I talked about having a cough earlier in the week.  I don’t know what it was, but yesterday on my drive in my coughing fits got worse and worse.

At work I kept trying to hold it in and not cough.  Around 9:30 I called my doctors office and got an appointment at 11:00 a.m.  Turns out I have bronchitis!  The last time I was sick I had bronchitis too!  He prescribed a cough medicine and z-pac.  I should be fine by Monday.  No wonder I was having trouble working out!  I did the recumbent bike earlier in the week because it felt better for my lungs.

I completely expected to go back to work, but he told me to go home.  I left all my stuff at work, my camera, workout bag, lunch, etc.

I had a new kind of oats for breakfast.  My Mom and I hit up the Thomas/Entenmanns outlet store on Wednesday, and I picked up this oatmeal:

It’s the same calories as regular oats, but it must be low glycemic because even with 1/2 cup of strawberries and 1/4 cup of trail mix, two hours after lunch and my blood sugar was only 153 – nice!

I came home and fixed myself some tomato soup and a grilled cheese sammie.  Perfect comfort food for when you are sick.

Tony cannot stand the smell or taste of tomato soup for some reason – I love it, but there are 20 grams of carbs per half a cup, so I don’t have it too often.

I took the first two pills, then the cough medicine and went to lie down on the couch.  I zonked out and slept for about an hour!   I obviously didn’t feel like cooking, so Tony made a Jimmy John’s run. Open-mouthed smile

Okay, so Errign talked about recording this show:

While I am pretty sure that Tony will never watch this show again, this will be my guilty pleasure!

So the winner of the autographed Jane Fonda cookbook is . . .

I have a LOT of cookbooks. I use a Taste Of Home Annual and a Southern Living Cookbook the most. But when I have to pull something out of my hat, I go to the Junior League/Church ladies cookbooks.

I love that you thrift. We get better stuff at thrift and consign than we could afford at first run retail or even outlet prices.

Congratulations Maggie!  Send me your mailing address to mybizzykitchen@gmail.com.

Alright, I have to get ready for work – make it a great day!
