My sister asked me yesterday if I weighed in. The answer to that? Hell No. While I know I’ve gained weight, there was no way I wanted to see what the number was on that scale. My plan is actually not to weigh in again until August 1, so these next three weeks are going to be “get back to where you were mode.”
Since I got home so late from the airport Sunday night, there was no chance to go grocery shopping. I ended up swinging by McDonald’s on my way to work and picked up some oatmeal to go with my watermelon I had leftover in my fridge. The summer blueberry oatmeal is already gone, so I got the fruit and nut.
Breakfast comes in at 313 calories, 4.6 fat, 62 carbs, 5.3 fiber and 5 protein. I only ate one slice of the watermelon, the rest tasted . . . moldy?
I forgot everything yesterday. Work out clothes. My good camera. I ended up having to stick around for work anyway for lunch, but I have my clothes packed and ready to go today – our high today is only 82 – love it!
So guess what I had for lunch?? A Lean Cuisine! I am sure these are Hannah’s – I found them in the door of our downstairs freezer. I grabbed a bag of broccoli that I froze to bulk up the lunch – I cooked the broccoli separately and tossed it in 2 tablespoons of spicy thai chili sauce, then mixed that in with the lean cuisine – which was chicken fried rice.
It actually wasn’t too bad, although the chicken was a bit dry – this whole bowl comes in at 321 calories,4.3 fat, 55 carbs, 4.4 fiber and 14 protein.
Since I ate lunch at my desk, I made out our grocery list. Tony and I had planned on going to Wool Street for dinner, then hit up the grocery store after that. On Monday’s they have $5 burgers. But we drove in and there wasn’t a single car in the parking lot and all the patio furniture was on one side of the patio. Turns out they are closed on Monday’s during the summer.
So we ended up at Wings, etc. I wasn’t planning on getting wings, but their Monday special was .49 cent wings. We actually think that these wings taste better than Buffalo Wild Wings. However, I always ask for the sauce on the side – that way they stay crispy.
I ended up eating six wings and about 1/4 of my half order of fries. Dinner came in at 698 calories, 45 fat, 19.5 carbs, 1.8 fiber and 46 protein.
I am happy to say that I am prepared food wise for the rest of the week. I think I’ve indulged in enough bacon grease breakfasts and biscuits, although I did refrain from making sausage gravy one morning when I was in Virginia.
I made this soup for my lunch today, which I adapted slightly. I actually left out the mint (not a huge fan) and added spices. I’ll post my version of the recipe tomorrow.
So today is a new day – a day to get back on track and hopefully string enough of those days together to undo some of the damage I did.
Show of hands – do you like chicken wings? My brother and sister can’t eat any meat on the bone – what’s wrong with them?
Make it a great day!
I am so not a wing person. Or a rib person. But I’m not necessarily adverse to meat on bones.
There are lots of people that don’t eat meat from the bone. Personally I hardly ever eat chicken or other meat from the bone. If I do, I do it at home where I can wash my hands immediately.

Do you not see it at the top? It says My Bizzy Kitchen/Following/Like/Reblog . . . or maybe I am the only one that can see it?!
Watermelon doesn’t stay in the fridge long, it gets weird tasting. I’m not a fan of mint either.
I will eat chicken on the bone but I really don’t like to. I rarely will make “real” chicken because my whole family won’t eat it off the bone. Unless it’s a breast and I pull the meat off for them. I’ll take boneless wings anyday!
I think it’s time I updated my blog.. I now have THREE comments on the same post from my Blog Stalker 😀
I’m so glad to hear that you had a great weekend with the fam. It’s sad that sometimes it takes a tragedy to get everybody together, but gotta enjoy the time when you can!
I am not a huge fan of chicken wings (i can’t stand the after taste of greasy things!) but I do loooove me some grilled or roasted chicken legs. Meat on the bone is so much more flavorful and doesn’t dry out as easily..as is dark meat! in my opinion 🙂 I actually haven’t had a boneless skinless chicken breast in months, but i saw anne burrell making this roulade yesterday ( http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-burrell/chicken-roulades-with-chorizo-and-manchego-recipe/index.html ) and she made them look great! anything with chorizo= win
Waving hand – yep, I am the stalker! I am one of those blog readers who think the worst when someone hasn’t posted anything for weeks – glad that you are alive and well Sarah – and thanks for the link . . . it had me at chorizo! 😀
Love chicken wings but I can’t remember the last time I ate them. I’ll just enjoy hearing about them. 🙂
Buhhhhh no, meat on the bone makes me want to puke – yes, you’re welcome for the visual.
Closing my eyes while I am eating my lunch 🙂
I *love* chicken wings. With bleu cheese! I just don’t eat them that often. I can eat a dozen at least by myself.
I always had to bulk up LC meals to keep me full. Then I realized just to not bother eating them at all LOL!
I am catching up here, loved your top ten lists from the last post. I LOVE chicken wings, way too much. I know a lot of people that are thoroughly freaked out about meat on the bone. Tom doesn’t eat chicken at all.
I know – I think its so weird that he doesn’t like chicken!
I like chicken wings, but they’re not my favorite.
I’m not a huge fan of mint, either! I never make a recipe that calls for it. 🙂
Do you know I never even tried wings until last fall/winter when we had a wing cook-off at my house? I do like them, I just need to cook them more. I made the parmesan-garlic wings that took the win 🙂
Winning!
Love, love, love wings! The spicier the better! I need to start ordering my sauce on the side…great idea!
I love buffalo wings! My step mom can’t do meat on the bone either…I don’t know how she can miss out on the goodness of wings and ribs 🙂
I know you’ll get right back on track…you can do this!!
I can’t do meat on the bone either! I dunno…freaks me out! It always feels good when you get things back in order after vacation. Get in a slammin workout today!
Hell yea to wings! Love them. Since there was never boneless chicken in our house growing up, the bone doesn’t bother be at all. Drink lots of water, get out an enjoy this weather, and you’ll be back on track in no time.
Thanks Jax! 😀
I love buffalo sauce but don’t like wings. My issue with them is not that they are on the bone but the skin. I don’t do chicken skin. My Mom always took it off and I have never acquired the taste (which is probably just as well). But buffalo chicken breast tenders, yum!
OMG, I think the crunchy skin is the best part! 😀
