I just wish I was maintaining at 135 pounds though!
Even though its not showing on the scale, I feel tighter, if that makes any sense. I think those 30 minute stretch DVR I’ve been doing is tightening up my muscles and my legs feel good with the walking. I just need to step away from the wine and salty snacks!
Yep, another breakfast parfait – this time with oranges – I love citrus in parfaits.
My friend and I went to a funky garage sale. I tend to go to garage sales that say “multi-family.” We get there and its just three ladies selling a bunch of crap – mostly horse riding stuff. But my friend spotted a panini press! It looked brand new. On the outside it had the initials GDL, but the inside had a Hamilton owners manual, so I was a bit confused.
They were asking $12, I negotiated for $10 and when we got in the car, I googled it and found out that GDL stands for Giada DeLaurentis – duh! This normally sells at Target for $50!
Not sure if you can tell in the picture, but this is big enough to press four sammies! Of course, if you follow me on Facebook, you’ll see that Tony’s response to this purchase was less than enthusiastic. His response? Just one more kitchen appliance that’s used once and then put in the basement never to be seen again. I joked and said for that remark he might get panini’s every night next week!
Actually, today I am making myself a oven roasted turkey panini with avocado spread and sun dried tomatoes – doesn’t that sound good?
You can tell by my lunch yesterday that it was “throw shit in a bag day.” Leftover Easter ham, mashed potatoes with baby spinach, a string cheese and some baby carrots with hot taco sauce on top – weird, I know, but delicious!
I picked up a grocery store pizza on my way home, and dressed it up with pepperoni, jalapeno for me and green olive for Tony. It’s weird, some jalapenos are so hot I can only eat a couple, some aren’t hot at all. These were just barely spicy, but good none the less.
I did my meal plan grocery list last night, and I think I’ll do that from now on. After WW I went straight to the store and was home, putting groceries away by 9:45 – love it! I have some great things on my menu this week. My SIL and I are going to eat like Queen’s this week!
Lunches for me and my SIL:
- Chicken Vindaloo with Brown Rice and Broccoli
- Chicken Fajitias with sauteed peppers and Veronica’s crock pot refried pinto beans
- Cavitapi pasta with brussel sprouts and butternut squash pasta sauce
- Bang Bang Shrimp with sauteed zucchini and carrots
- Thai chicken soup with sesame wontons (based on this recipe)
Dinners:
- Whole Chicken smoked in our smoker with a lemon terragon pan sauce, green beans and mashed potatoes
- BBQ ribs, baked in the oven with homemade wet rub and bbq sauce, baked beans and corn on the cob
- Smoked sausage with Red Beans and Rice
- Out to dinner with Mara! Tony is having meatloaf
- Steak Diane, baked potato and pan roasted broccoli
- Beef taquitos with crock pot refried beans
What’s on your menu this week? Off to clean out my pantry and fridge – make it a great day!
Your meal plan rocks my socks! Love the panini press, I want one but like I said on facebook, I won’t get one b/c of the exact reason your hubby stated. I’d use it once-lol. Oh, and on those beans, since there is no fat you sometimes need to add water to keep them from being too thick and dry when you reheat them. Or…you could always add in some bacon grease. >:)
Very jealous of the panini machine and what you paid for it “brand new”. I bet they never used it. It’s gorgeous. After Tony has his first panini and sees how scrumptious [not to mention easy peasy it is to use] he’ll help you find a permanent home for it. Betcha’.
I really need to get my behind out of bed on Saturday mornings. I love a deal, what I don’t need is more stuff. Okay, clothes. I need those – but the chances of me finding my size at a yard sale when I can’t find them in the department stores tells me it would be a waste of time. heehee And I bet anyone who finds age appropriate clothing [i.e. NOT teen -y boppers] in our size probably guards it with their life anyway. I know I would.
You’re so good at shopping, along with just about everything else!, I should steal you and take you along for a good luck charm. Want to visit Washington DC anytime soon? 😀 Bring Hannah too – double my chances and double the fun!
I was laughing when I saw Tony’s response to your garage sale purchase! 🙂 And I was also laughing when I saw that you wanted to buy more “stuff”… 😉
But I think a panini press is totally worth it, and I’m sure you’ll get good use out of it!
Have a good Sunday!
What a score on that panini press! I think that would be a fun appliance to have and I’m sure you’ll get LOTS of use out of it! My husband refers to our appliance graveyard (i.e. the shelves in the garage)…I think he and Tony might have something in common there – but they’re WRONG, lol!!!
P.S. I’m having ribs next week. Your house. Sixish?
I’m booking a ticket and coming out to eat at your house this week!
I know you may be a bit disappointed but I think it’s great that you didn’t gain.
I have a panini press and just love it!! So many delicious options! 🙂
On the bright side…you didn’t gain 🙂
Can you come cook for me??
Tonight we’re having ham, bean, and potato enchiladas.
Tomorrow is pizza night.
Rest of the week…leftover enchiladas and pizza, plus probably some leftover ham/bean soup from the freezer.
Hey, maintaining is better than gaining, but I’ve been stuck for a few weeks too, so I know it’s frustrating!
Your menu this week sounds amazing…I’ve been craving ribs for week, I need to make them some time soon!
What a deal on the panini press, I have one … in the garage gathering dust 😉 I should really pull it out and use it next week. Oh and my husband puts taco sauce or hot sauce on everything, I will tell him to try it on carrots.
Last night I brought “tsiat” to work for dinner aka throw shit in a tupperware. It was black beans, chick peas, a chopped tomato, half of a chopped orange pepper and half of an avocado with a handful of cilantro, olive oil and lemon juice. It turned out better than expected considering it was all left overs.
Girl I’m right there with you wishing I was holding steady at 135 rather than 160 something. I haven’t actually weighed myself in a few weeks. Judging by my clothing I’m right where I left off. Isn’t there some law of science that says all plateaus must go down?!
Enjoy your weekend!
You would think, right?! 😀
Oh my gosh, I’ll never figure out WordPress, this is Marie again. Have a fantastic weekend!
Ha – thanks Marie! 😀
I’ve never had a panini if you can believe that, but I would for sure put that press to use. I only like sandwiches if the bread is toasted so this is even better!
Well, at least no gain! Right?! Nice deal on the panini press! I love mine, but I always forget I have it! mmmm refried beans. Happy Saturday
