Before I say anything else, I need to give a shout out to my blog friend Renee – I won her giveaway and she sent me some tea (sweet and spicy!) and a magnet pad and a cute card. Um, check out her one point quiches! Thanks Renee!
I have a confession to make. I have no meal plan this week. I know! When I went to the grocery store over the weekend, I only bought snacky stuff and fruit for Superbowl Sunday, which we never ended up eating. Well, I ate chips and guacamole. š
So this week I give you “fly by the seat of my pants menu week!” I really have no idea what I am going to fix until the night before – scary!
I found I had some Arnold Thins in the freezer, so I had an egg white/red pepper/spinach sammie with kiwi, strawberries and grapes. 7 WW points.
So it came time to make a decision at lunch. I went on weather.com:
It’s tiny, but it said: actual temperature 31, but with windchill feels like 21. That’s chilly peeps. But I told myself I was prepared. I had my warm leggings under my sweat pants, I had a long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt and wind proof jacket, a hat and scarf. I ended up doing my walk a song/run a song for 40 minutes.
Not gonna lie, the first 5 minutes sucked ass because it was fricken cold, but like my boyfriend Dolvett says “hard work = dedication!” And I was glad that I did it. š
For some reason when I packed my breakfast I must have gotten distracted (happens to me all the time!) and I never put anything together for lunch. I have my blog friend Melissa for posting that Subway has buffalo sauce – whaa??!!
I had the turkey sandwich (7) with a side of the Light Lay’s Potato chips, so lunch comes in at a nice and spicy 9 points.
Hannah was home for dinner. As I was driving home I was thinking of what I had on hand that she and I would both love. Shocker – I went with Taco Salad! š
- romaine lettuce (0)
- baby spinach (0)
- red pepper (0)
- cucumber (0)
- carrots (0)
- 1/8 cup canned black beans (1)
- 1/8 cup canned corn (1)
- 4 ounces cooked ground sirloin (6)
- 1/2 ounce cheddar cheese (1)
- 1 tablespoon guacamole (1)
- 2 tablespoons Ortega hot sauce (0)
- 2 tablespoons fat free ranch dressing (0)
I love mixing taco sauce and ranch dressing together for my taco salad dressing – 4 tablespoons of dressing is only 1 WW point. š
This literally took me about 20 minutes to eat – so good and spicy! I forgot I wanted to add fresh sliced jalapneo though. š
So my next diabetes doctor appointment is on May 15. While he is a crazy ass and still wants me to get down to 125 pounds (um, that’s 34 more pounds people!) I have a goal of 140. Which is 19 pounds. 19 is my favorite number! So in order to lose 19 pounds in 3 months, guess what? That works out to – only 1.4 pounds a week! Totally doable. So that’s my only goal I have for the next 3 months.
Hard work + dedication = 140 pounds. And a size 8 jeans. š
Off to figure out my food for the day – wish me luck! Make it a great day! š
I’m so glad I found your blog! Thanks for the inspiration and great recipes! BTW, I have the same white dishes! LOL
Small steps in weight loss are good. Who knows that after you lost the 19 you will lose the rest too but first the 19. You can totally do it.
That is my absolute favorite tea. No sweetener needed. I haven’t been able to find it lately. I’m going to have to order it online.
I’m stealing your words as my new mantra. “Hard work + dedication = 140 pounds.Ā And a size 8 jeans.”
The time has come. I have had it!! I want this 20 pounds gone before my next birthday. Of course it would be much easier if Dolvett was my trainer. This season’s BL contestants are so whiny. What I wouldn’t give for a week on that ranch!
Hold up…Subway has buffalo sauce?! I know where I’m going for lunch tomorrow!!!
My goal weight is 140 as well, but I’m waaayyyy farther than 19 lbs! You can do it mama!!!!
Awe…thanks for the link love and I’m glad you got the package. I hope you enjoy that tea…it’s kind of freaky how sweet it is without a touch of sweetener or sugar! I love it!
with all the mild weather we have been having in the midwest, these cold spells feel so freaking cold it’s not funny! lol 125? holy cow…I happen to think you look awesome now and you know what? If you give it your best and don’t get where that doc wants you to be…you are still going to be better off then if you didn’t do anything! You LOOK AMAZING!!!!! I wish I looked as good as you do!
I love the Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea blend because it is naturally very sweet and needs no sugar at all! And it is my very favorite tea (unless you count fattening versions of chai tea).

Thank you, you are really are so inspiring to me! Whenever, I want to be inspired, I’m going to head over here! You can do the weight loss .. how tall are you?? Cause I know if I got down to 125 there would be nothing to me! My lowest was 135 I think! (But I’m 5’8 … )
I’d be at goal weight if I was that tall! I am barely 5.2″
Good luck on the weight loss, I hate to exercise, really need to do it. (obviously) You are inspiring me, if you can do it when it is 31 I can do it when it is 61.
I’d be in a tank top and shorts in 61 degrees – get out there Rhonda – you’ll thank me later! š
You’ve got this! š
NO meal plan??? Vat, I’m just not sure if our blog friendship can survive that! š Yay for the doable goal, and continued good wishes and thoughts to you and Tony!!!!
breaking down weight loss into a manageable number is really smart! you absolutely can reach your goal, i know it!
I love your weight loss plan-good luck. Also, your taco salad will haunt me all day. š
You can totally do 19 lbs in 3 months… Go you!
That taco salad looks great… so many delicious goodies packed into one salad!
Wow!!! Dolvett really gets around:) I thought he was my boyfriend.
Perfect timing–last night I totally got a craving for taco salad and was searching Google for recipes! How funny. I know what we’re having tonight! š
Keep your eye on the prize and you totally can do it – don’t even BUY things that are trouble for you, like wine and pretzels!
You know me too well Shelley! š
As a native Californian, I would die in that cold. I don’t know if it’s ever been that cold here. Props to you for working out! I’m going to try the walk a song, run a song idea.
125? That seems SO low to me. I do like the 19 in 3 plan, do it Biz!
Turns out that I am short Amanda – for my height – barely 5.2, the range starts at 107 pounds – WTF?
You can do this, Biz!!!! Can’t wait to see you rocking those size 8 jeans! š
OK, for the last time, Dolvett is MY boyfriend! Besides, he’s from Stanford, CT so I’m his homegirl and you can’t compete with that. Really Biz, don’t make me take you down!!
1.4 lbs. a week is very doable – it’s what I hope for myself. I have to go back to the doctor in May and I’m hoping to be down another 15 lbs. by then!
LOL – I knew Helen would have something to say about HER boyfriend!
Um, its not fair that she lives closer! š I’ll race you Helen!
Ha, this looks like a fabulous day of eats, especially digging that taco salad š you can totally rock 19 in 3!!! especially with an attitude that gets you out there when it’s that cold š
YAAAAAY-19 more pounds!! You are so, so close!
Good luck! Eat Paleo!
Thanks Rich – but I loves my cheese and bread too much – I’ll get there – you’ll see! š
This Paleo is killing me and everyone around me!! On Day three of the strict Paleo plan and have eaten everyone around me alive!! Grrr. You are the most dedicated person I know, You can do this thing!!
Way to work a good plan on the fly! And I know you can totally lose the 19 lbs in 3 months. And it’ll be fun reading about it!
I know you’re going to reach your goal by your doctors appt!! Yay!
Do it girl!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you can. Wow- your fly by the seat of your pants food looks better than some of my planned meals ;). That taco salad especially. And loving the array of fruit colors at breakfast
That salad looks delicious!! Yum!
And I heart Dolvett. He’s not bad to look at either………… š
Mmmm. I’m always hungry after reading your posts. š Just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading your blog and how inspiring you are each day! I hope Tony is feeling well after the surgery on Monday!
Thanks Christine! š
I am about to head out for a run and although I’d rather be back in bed I know how great I’ll feel after wards. I have a busy day ahead so it’s now or never. Meal planning or not your food looks great.
That salad and dressing looks DELICIOUS!
You are amazing and an inspiration Biz! Exercising regularly, sticking to your points, taking care of the hub, dropping those pounds, controlling diabetes…ROCK ON!!
Um, I kind of though Dolvett was my boyfriend!? haha
You did great for not having a meal plan, when I don’t have one I end up eating snack food all day, no bueno!
I know that you can reach your goal Biz, you’ve been doing so great and I know you’ll kick ass and get rid of these 19 lbs š
Damn. Now I want Subway. Thanks bizzy – loaded with sodium [it’s the bread]. Sigh, but boy it looks good.
Now to your little equation at the end of your post – it is even more doable if you subtract wine and pretzels, huh? š You can do it. I know you can. Anyone that can exercise, everyday in that temperature can do anything.
Good luck sweetie!
Sorry Skip, even without the buffalo sauce – 810 mg of sodium! Too much for you! Go eat some chocolate chips š Hugs!
