While I took a short cut last week just asking the participants to update their week in the comments section, I got positive feedback from several of the participants that they liked being able to reply to someone’s comment, that I am sticking with it.
As you may have seen on my post yesterday, I finally reached my 10% goal, and am down 17.4 pounds since March. Slow and steady wins the race. š I also found a bunch of shorts and pants that I haven’t worn in a couple years – one pair of size 12 shorts are even too big. š
Participant Jacky is part of a CSA and for Father’s Day made strawberry cheesecake in a jar – perfect for a picnic – they looked amazing Jacky!
I belonged to a CSA in 2009 – but for the first several weeks I mostly got kohlrabi, and what they called “carrot bites.” Really?
Satu joined our challenge, and since she doesn’t use scales, has decided that a picture is worth a thousand words – check out her weight loss in pictures here. I just think its cool that I have a particpant who lives in Finland! š
My sister is still going strong in the exercise department – day 20 in a row of moving – keep it up Jenn!
Lori was bummed this past week because she stayed within her points, exercised, etc., and was up .9. I will be the first to say, you can’t expect the scale to say what you want on the day you want – just keep on going and you’ll reach your goal – no giving up! Send her some pep talks as we come into the 4th of July weekend – she’s kind of worried about the long holiday and all the food!
So how did your week go? Are you on plan? Try any new summer recipes?
Let us know! Enjoy your Sunday – we have another beautiful day!
I love these posts! And I’m totally going to check out the cheese cake recipe- YUM! Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend
My week was hard, as I haven’t been able to really exercise due to my sprained ankle. I’m trying not to let it get me down, though! I’m determined to make this week better. š
I had the same problem this week with an injury. Something like that is really out of your control, so it wasn’t like you just didn’t do it to be lazy. : ) Good luck with this week!
Congrats on your 10% – you’re doing so good. And awesome about the shorts- such a great feeling!!
Well, I managed to get my exercise classes in! Boot Camp (30 mins) on Mon., Power Sculpting (1 hr) on Tues were so intense that I had to take Wed and Thurs off to let my body rest…I was SO sore!! Friday, one hour of body sculpting! The scale? A big fat š However, my stomach is feeling a little flatter, and I’m definitely getting stronger. Haven’t seen much difference in my clothes yet.
Goals – drink lots more water! I got dehydrated Tuesday (muscle cramps, headache, etc) and it was not fun. Continue with at least 3 workouts per week.
Congrats on all the exercise, sounds like you are doing great! I imagine the scale will catch up with all that effort you are putting in soon. Good luck on week 5!
Congrats, Biz, on reaching the 10% milestone! I’m really curious about the new WW program. How different is it compared to the old one?
Exercise-wise I had an excellent week: I’ve walked every single day, and on Thursday I had my highest step count (I use pedometer daily) ever: 16056 steps! I also worked out 3 times using my new whole-body workout program. (Let’s just say I sweated like a pig!) On the other hand, my diet has been less than perfect. š It’s probably because I’ve been a bit moody lately, but I try not to worry about it too much. No progress pictures this week.
I went and looked at your whole-body workout by Flavia and that looks very intense. I am looking forward to reading more about what you think of it as you progress. Good luck!
I love the new WW program – its pretty much the same except its steering you away from processed food – so your once 2 point vita muffin top is now 4 points, but all fruit and most veggies are free! š
What a treat seeing all the signs. Some were so funny and so true, just ecilpxit! Hope you are feeling good and enjoying yourselves too! Not just making us happy! AuMillers PS the one sign looked like it was from Gunnison, CO? I went to college there for a time, and we were raised in Montrose, CO 60 miles from Gunnison.
Thank you! This is like the results you used to post about 12 yrs ago and we love it. Round by round with all the stats it doesn’t get any betetr than that. Thank you again.
Ah, my week. Well, I got back into the running with another 5 mile run, followed by a four mile run two days later, with some walking in between. I am struggling right now with getting my cross training and strength training in – this despite the fact that I know how much those would help with the runs. With it being summer I am having a hard time getting up early and getting it done before it gets too hot – I just want to stay in bed! I am frustrated and feeling a bit down on myself, but I am trying to fight it.
I am with Biz this week – more fruits and veggies. I have neglected my eating since I started running. Good luck to everyone this week!
Congrats on the five mile and four mile runs. I am still stuck at walking and the elliptical so seeing this is such an inspiration!
You are a true inspiration to all of us…now If i could make myself follow in your footsteps.
I had a great week – I was very consistent on getting to the gym, and overall was very pleased with the amount of homemade food I made. I had one lunch in particular that was all leftovers, but also all homemade – so quick but SO satisfying.
–tomato soup made from tomatoes I canned last summer, with homemade ricotta cheese on top
–mini cheese sandwich (the cheddar wasn’t homemade, I admit), on bread I baked and with the last of my overnight pickles
–mini toast on my bread with blueberry jam my friend and i canned on Monday
–smoothie with blueberries and homemade pineapple sorbet
Super delicious!
Wow, your food sounds delicious! Homemade bread, jam and pickles, I am very jealous. I just got done with my lean cuisine, it lost a lot of its appeal after reading this. : )
…that’s OF your skinny-assed self:)
How fun and a great NSV to be able to go “shopping” in your own closet and find stuff that not only fits, but a few things that are too big. You’re on a great roll, Biz, and seriously inspiring me. My week has been better – definitely more exercise and cleaner eating. Not where I want to be, but not where I was either…definitely progress.
Hey – I’m waiting for some before and after shots or your skinny-assed self!
I think just being better every week is a great accomplishment. That’s what I’m trying to do just to give me something positive to think about when I do have struggles. And tha is definitely progress.
I agree, we do need some updated pics. I can’t wait until I can post mine, live it up!
I will at the end of the challenge – promise! š
We rode our bikes to the store for ice cream. I was a good girl and got no sugar added fruit popsicles for 15 calories each!
Been busy working like crazy. Tons of running around/arm power there. Also worked in the yard and swam in the pool.
Just got some exercise stuff out of the storage unit. Hopefully will be putting it to use, instead of letting it collect dust.
My goal for this upcoming week is to drink MORE WATER. My intake is down drastically since restarting work and being on the go all the time, not having easy access like I did when I was sitting at home all day. I’ve been trying to bring a refillable bottle with me everywhere, but I need to get better at it, and refill it more often. I’m sad to say that some soda, iced coffees, and sno-balls (shaved ice with syrup) from work has snuck into my diet in water’s place. Need to rectify that IMMEDIATELY!
I need to work on my water consumption too. If I’m full of water, I snack way less!
I suck at drinking water. Why is it so hard! We will drink the shit out of water this week!
hahaha you crack meup! I’ve already drank the shit out of 2 refills of my bottle yesterday and today! Wooo!
I have a hard time with water as well. And I really like water. But I have gotten an annoying habit of starting my day with Diet Mt. Dew. Its like my coffee I think. Good luck on your goal and using your exercise equipment this week! : )
I need to drink more water on the weekends – I am awful at that – maybe because I always have a glass of wine in my hand?! š
I’m still going strong exercising every day – still avoiding food at work INCLUDING a 5lb. Hershey chocolate bar a rep brought it!!
I didn’t lose any weight this week, but my body fat percentage went down – so I’m excited about that!
Everyone is doing great!!
So exciting to read that you’re still going strong on your every day of exercise Jenn! Congrats on avoiding the 5 lb. bar – that’s huge!!
Congrats on your exercise habit, Jenn! I know how hard it’s to create a consistent exercise habit.
I didn’t know 5lb Hershey bars even exist!!
A 5 lb chocolate bar! Wow…congrats on avoiding that. You have some amazing willpower. : )
Have a nice Sunday! gloria
Congrats on the 10%!! And good luck with getting in 50% of each meal as fruits and veggies.
My week went really well exercise-wise again! I did BodyRock every day (except one day, I did 30 day shred instead). I still haven’t weighed in because I felt bloated on Saturday morning and a bad scale # always freaks me out. Maybe one morning this week I will weigh in. My clothes seem to be fitting better though so that is always a good sign. And I totally beat my nighttime chocolate-snacking problem. I did kind of replace it with other snacking though =/ That’s actually going to be my goal this week – make sure I’m not starving by the time dinner comes around so that I won’t need to snack afterwards. I should probably add in a mid-afternoon snack to limit the nighttime snacks. Okay, yep, that is my goal this week š I will update next week on how it went.
Just remember the scale doesn’t tell all. The fit of your clothes & change in your shape are huge indicators too! Good for you for realizing that a bad weigh in might derail you a bit and backing off for a few days!
I have heard horror stories about the 30 day shred and Body Rock and being very out of shape they scare me. : ) I understand about the scale number, I can feel so good about everything I’ve done and the number doesn’t equal what I think I’ve put out I lose my motivation. Good luck on your snacking, that sounds like a great plan.
Next week its on! Finally getting out of my jet lag-lag! Congrats on hitting 10%!!!
17.4! You go girl!
That’s amazing! Like you said, slow and steady! š
This week was wierd – scale says I lost 4 pounds but I feel just the same. I had a somewhat crazy week which started with the dept of health making a site visit to a property I manage for lead paint hazards around kiddos and then ended with a plumbing fiasco at same said property. I missed 4 days of exercise but that is not to say I did not run my arse off to and from handling all this. I hope it is a better exercise week. I am missing a key ingredient to weight loss – a food plan. Seems like I am just scatterbrained when it comes to meal planning.
Congratulations on losing 4 pounds – that is great! I am not great at meal planning either, and with 4 kids I really need to be better about it. Maybe I should make that a goal of mine.
4lbs! That’s great!
I’ve just started slowly getting into meal planning & it helps me feel in control. Baby steps.
Congrats on the 4 pounds, that is awesome! I struggle with meal planning too, I always say I am going to do it but never manage to. And eating out sneaks in way too much without the planning. Hope the rest of your work week is very uneventful.
4 pounds is amazing Jody – but if I don’t meal plan, I am SOL – hope you get some time to meal plan this week š
yay you are doing so well! what an inspiration š hope you have a great sunday!
I’m clapping for your 10%. Way to go Biz!!!!!!!!!!
My week went well. I went to yoga three times at my new studio, and some of the other ladies there even recognized me & welcomed me back. It was nice! I celebrated my birthday yesterday, which was interesting to be all alone, but I made the best of it. I ran a lot this week, both outside & inside on the treadmill and my longest outside distance this week was 4 miles – halfway to my summer goal of 8 miles outside. My plan is to add .5 mile every week to my “long run” š
Happy Birthday and good luck reaching 8 miles!
Way to go on the running! I am running too, and know how hard it can be. Congratulations on being halfway to your goal.
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
I think I need to make a weekly goal for running – I’m liking that idea! It’ll keep me motivated!
Wow 4 miles is amazing to someone who doesn’t run yet at all. : ) I am hoping to get there one day. Happy Birthday!
That’s an ininegous way of thinking about it.
Why does this have to be the ONLY reliable source? Oh well, gj!
Thanks for being on point and on target!
Oh how I love the beach too, Nina! I love the sounds of the ocean as the waves roll in and break along the shore line. It is wounrefdl to hear that you and your family hada great time there. You will have to share your pictures with me soon!
