You all know I do my meal and menu planning on the weekend. I have everything written down, I know exactly what I am having for breakfast lunch and dinner by Sunday of the week at the very latest.
I opened my meal plan book to look to see what I had planned for the day. I was utterly shocked when I saw . . . . nothing. The lines for breakfast, lunch and dinner were all blank!
So that’s when I just start throwing things in my lunch bag and then see what sticks when I get to work.
First up is breakfast – I threw ham, pepperoni, a container of egg beaters, jalapeno havarti cheese and 1/4 of a green pepper in my bag. That turned into egg roll ups with green pepper garnish.
I went to the gym, and this time my locker worked fine! 😀 I did 40 minutes on the stair master on level 7 – holy shizz that was hard! I was a sweaty mess after that!
So for my lunch I threw in one all beef hot dog, a bag of lettuce, 1 can of Hormel chili no beans, a package of 100 calorie Wholly Guacamole and a baby cucumber. This is what lunch became:
I quickly realized this was going to be a knife and fork lunch! And there is nothing better than an all beef hot dog in my book! Lunch comes in at 414 calories, 13 carbs, 12 protein, 26 fat and 7 fiber.
My snowman cup of the day contained another sugar free vanilla caramel cafe latte – I love this mug! One of my co-workers gave it to me. I have no idea how she knew I liked snowmen 😀
I actually had a jones for chicken wings. I wasn’t sure Tony was in the mood, but he was! No breading at all. I simply salt and pepper the outside, then deep fry for 15 minutes at 350. These were not greasy at all. I tossed mine in 1 tsp. of melted butter mixed with 1/4 cup of Frank’s hot sauce.
My plate: 684 calories, 8.1 carbs, 42 protein, 53 fat (yikes!) and 1 fiber.
And a quick thanks to Veronica for her giveaway win! She makes the most amazing cakes. One of the secrets that makes a good frosting great is a bottle of this:
Tony loves cake frosting – especially wedding cake 😀 Check out some of her beautiful cakes here.
Stats for Friday:
- 1539 calories, 51 carbs, 88 protein, 99 fat and 10.3 fiber
- 41% of calories from fat
- 40 minutes on Stair Master – Level 7
- 5 minute cool down
It’s kind of a dreary day outside today – a good day to be in the kitchen I think! 😀
Question of the Day: Can you eat meat off a bone? My brother, sister and Kitchen Witch can’t do it – which seems crazy to me!
I can def eat meat off a bone! I love love love ribs and chicken wings!
the blog title cracked me up! I actually said, “oh I love shit in a bag” OUT LOUD annnd I am home alone! LOL
Haha, I love the title! I do lots of those myself.
Great job on South Beach, Biz! Getting lots of inspiration from looking at your posts.
I feel better when I eat that way and plan to try it again after we get back from vacation.
Great job making up some delicious meals despite having a plan! My meals (well, lunch & dinner) are usually pretty planned as well. The lunch combo looks fab. Glad the locker situation was figured out 😉 And the snowman mug is adorable. Its getting to that time of year!! Happy weekend
meat on the bone – yes! my poor vegetarian husband!
I’m obsessed with menu planning. Hell, I’m obsessed with all planning! I’m kind of anal. Ryan hates it. I believe last deployment he said, “Try to work on that”, to me. Turdball.
I can eat meat off the bone but I can’t let myself think about all the “stuff” I’m eating as well. I’ve recently developed a meat complex (that’s what she said!) and meat really grosses me out! Perhaps vegitarianism is in my future?
your that’s what she said comment made me spit my water out! 😀
I’ll pass on the meat on a bone, but I bet my dog would be all about that 🙂
I started meal planning now for dinner twice a week and I write it out and then post it on a dry erase board so Ryan has some idea what he is getting for dinner in the upcoming week. I am starting to find it fun to cook dinners.
I will say that I will eat ribs, but that’s the only meat off the bone.
KFC, can’t do it, chicken legs/wings, never, turkey leg…nope!!! I’m sure I’m not alone!
I love your breakfast egg wraps though!!
Gasp! *blushing at the shameless cursing*
I do struggle with the whole bone business. Very oddly I find chicken on the bone to be top of the repulsive list so I rarely ever make a whole baked chicken. I can, however, pack me away some spare ribs, ahem. And it seems that yes, yes there are bones in spare ribs but they certainly seem to differ in constitution from the chicken bones. Right? Right?
Good grief! If I could just throw things in a bag and it turn out like this I would be so happy! 🙂 I was going to say the breakfast looked incredible, but then I saw the lunch and dinner and thought the same thing. Seriously, I need to buy a house down the street from you and see if I can talk you into periodic invites over for dinner. 🙂
You have an open invitation Steve! 😀
Not sure what your meals tasted like, but they didn’t look like sh*t 😉 I’m sure they tasted as good as they look!
I officially love the title of this post. Hilarious! Your throwing shit in a bag seemed to have gone off seamlessly. Whenever I throw shit in a bag, I end up eating junk!
I can’t eat meat off bones either. YUCK!
I like your breakfast egg roll ups – very creative!
Meat off a bone – like ribs? Hells yes I can do that!
You may say “throw sh*t in a bag,” but I say “Iron Chef, Biz!” When I don’t have a plan, I always go overboard and eat whatever is the quickest to heat up.
I love buffalo wings! and drumsticks and bone-in chicken thighs and ribs and…:D I’ve heard of people who can’t eat chicken off the bone and I have no idea why. It always fascinates me as to where on earth the aversion to bone-in meats come from?
