OMG, can I say the list of things to deep fat fry is growing in my house??   But seriously, I love this machine – it keeps the temperature correct, has a timer – wonderful!

I love youtube, because you can put in anything and find a recipe for it.  Which is what I did for buffalo wings.  The temperature and length I needed to cook them at was what I was looking for more than anything.  375 degrees for exactly 12 minutes – and they were perfect!

The video I watched said the original buffalo wings had a light dip in 1 cup of flour to 1 tablespoon paprika, then into the fryer they went!

The sauce?  Equal parts butter and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce:

Behind Tabasco, this is my next favorite hot sauce

Since I am the only one that likes the hot sauce, my combo for 5 wings was 2 tablespoons of melted butter to 2 tablespoons Frank’s.

I seriously felt that these were restaurant worthy!!

When I went to the store to round out my menu shopping, I accidentally picked up one package of wings and one package of drumsticks!  Tony didn’t mind – I made two drumsticks for him and dipped them in Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan sauce.

My vegetable today??

Yep - you guessed it - CELERY! Can't have wings without celery (um, and maybe blue cheese dressing but I am not going there!) :D

With our grocery shop on Saturday and the rest today – I went $10 over our budget, spending $135.12 for the week.  Not too bad!

I do have a healthier menu planned this week though – thank goodness for that!  I am especially looking forward to tomorrow’s lunch – shrimp wonton soup!  I don’t care if its summer, I eat soup all year round.

Menu for the Week:

  • Sunday – Wings
  • Monday – Sugo di Carne (pasta with meat sauce)
  • Tuesday – BBQ Cornish hens with risotto
  • Wednesday – Grilled Boneless Pork chops with Scalloped Potatoes and Zucchini Ribbons
  • Thursday – Taco Salads made in homemade taco bowls
  • Friday – Party Pizza Friday!

Off to finish cleaning the kitchen – I am the messiest cook! 😀

See you tomorrow!
