I met my mom and sister for lunch and it was so good!   When I got back home, Tony looked at the menu and was like “that sounds good, no that’s sounds good!”   He loves oysters on the half shell so I see a date night at Shaw’s in our near future!

I had a glass of pinot grigio – I forgot to write down (or take a picture!) of the name of it, but it almost tasted like a combination of pinot grigio and chardonnay.

And no trip to Shaw’s Crabhouse would be complete without having a cup of their lobster bisque  –  we split a cup for the table, but I am pretty sure I ate half of it!

it was kind of dark in the restaurant! so good!!

I was torn between getting fish and chips and the crab cake sliders.  I asked if there were big chunks of onions in the crab cakes and the server said “there are no onions in the crab cakes.”  I was sold!   Mom got the fish and chips so I had one of her fish and I gave her one of my sliders – perfect!

lightly battered and so good - of course I splashed mine with Tabasco!

I actually saw a lobster, brie and penne pasta entree that sounded amazing, but changed my mind last minute.   When Tony was looking at the menu online when I got home, I noticed that there was baby spinach in this dish, and had I known this I definitely would have gotten this.  Maybe for our date night!

Hope you had a nice lunch Mom – happy Mother’s Day!

The other day I was watching a Bobby Flay episode and he made a stuffed flank steak with procuitto and fontina cheese.  The recipe called for butterflying the flank steak, but I wasn’t exactly sure how to do that, so I decided I would have all these flavors in our dinner.

I finally used my new meat tenderizer!

I ended up marinating the flank steak in 1/4 cup olive oil, one cup of red wine and lots of minced garlic.  I marinated this before I went to lunch, so it marinated about 5 hours.

I forgot that my friend Renee from work had given me some asparagus, so I ended up wrapping the asparagus with the prosciutto and grilling it to get it crispy, and then finished it off with the shredded fontina cheese.  We loved this, although we would like to try this again using the raw prosciutto, it got really salty on the grill.

We put this on the cool side to begin with, and the heat kind of sealed the proscuitto so that when I grilled it, it didn't fall off

I made baked potatoes on the side – my plate – 5 ounces baked potatoes, 2 tablespoons light sour cream, 4 ounces flank steak and 2 asparagus.

We have lots of leftover flank steak - I want to make a flank steak and avocado wraps with the leftovers!

Off to relax with  Tony and Hannah – although they are watching a scary movie, and I usually don’t like scary movies!   Hope everyone had a great Saturday!!  See you tomorrow!
