Anytime you can sit outside when food cooks on a Weber is a good day!  And tonight was no exception.  I did end up buying the 64 calorie beer, but after drinking a Corona last weekend at my friends house, I decided to add a slice of lime – so good!

The beer actually wasn't too bad, considering I like Boddington's and Sam Adams typically!

When I was cleaning out my downstairs fridge last week, I found this container of dry rub – not exactly sure what the combo was, but I knew it wasn’t too hot for Tony after smelling it!

I know this mix has some paprika, brown sugar, dried minced garlic and Italian seasoning

you can see where I missed the rub!

The secret to good beer can chicken is to put your hot coals on one side and the chicken on the indirect heat.  But you do have to turn the chicken around so that it doesn’t get charred too much on one side.  Tonight I used new coals, Kingsford “Competition” Coals, but I don’t think I used enough – they are natural coals, that burn hot, but not for long.  I put this 4 pound chicken on at 5;50 and I didn’t take it off the coals until 7:30!    It was worth the wait – nice and juicy!

I drizzled my chicken with mango habanero bbq sauce (from Buffalo Wild Wings)

So Hannah got called in to work through a text message during school.  She started at 4:00 and didn’t get home until 10:00!  Long day for her second day at work!  But she’s loving it so far, so that’s good!

Off to snuggle with Tony – see you tomorrow!
