While I was sitting at our computer this morning, this big fat bird was sitting right outside the window on our gazebo, and wouldn’t you know every time I tried to take a picture of it, it flew away! But when Hannah and I were leaving to go to the grocery store, I got this pic!
But before we went to the store I was doing an inventory and realized I had one more portion of pizza dough in the fridge so that’s what Hannah and I had for lunch. She had broccoli and sausage! I had shredded zucchini and green pepper with an ounce of sausage. My dough weighed in at 4 ounces, so my whole pizza was 504 calories, 14 fat and 71 carbs.
We did a great grocery shop – I’ll have to show the pictures tomorrow. I would show you tonight, but while I cleaned this morning, it apparently wasn’t up to Hannah’s standards and now our house is spotless. She even finished all our laundry and folded all of my clothes and they are perfectly divided between workout shirts, work shirts, work pants, etc. She has a gift! But sometimes its hard to get her to stop! So while I would like to bring out my grocery loot, I think she may have a mild heart attack if I mess up the perfect kitchen!
Let’s just say that Sunday is the best $1 day! I got approximately 20 tomatoes for $3 and about 15 red peppers forf $3. I plan on making pasta sauce with the tomatoes and roasted red pepper soup with the peppers. Again, I would start some of that tonight, but I’ll wait until tomorrow!
Can I just say that I am having a hard time finding QUINOA?! Look at the price at my ethnic grocery store!
So we get back from the store, and now the snow is melting, I know the roads are okay and make a decision to hop in the car and bring dinner for me and Tony at the hospital. He didn’t know I was coming so I think he was startled by that! I came in the knick of time – this is what they served him:
I made a sub sandwich for Tony, while I made a sammie out of the beer bread that Hannah made. I love that this bread is slightly sweet!
So Hannah gave me this for Christmas, so I have to officially cross the closet clean off my list!
Hope everyone had a good Sunday! We are still not sure when Tony is coming home, so we are taking it day by day. Again, thanks for all of your wonderful comments and concern – we BOTH appreciate it!!!
See you tomorrow!
I am a sucker for pictures of sunsets, sunrises, snowy trees, and oceans!!!!!!!!
wow, tony’s dinner looks AWEFUL. glad you came to the rescue 😉 you got a good suggestion for the quinoa, definitely do NOT pay that redonkulous price!!
Why is hospital food always so bad? lol but I cannot complain about the people at the hospital too much. When my mom was sick and the only thing she would eat was grilled cheese sandwiches, they always made them for her in the kitchen. 🙂
Love the christmas coupon from Hannah!
And I’m sure Tony was so happy that you were able to stop by with some good food for him!
Aw cute Christmas gift 🙂 Your pizza looks so thin and crispy – yum!
you’re so sweet for bringing him food so he doesn’t have to eat that stuff 🙂 I’m glad he’s doing well! and Hannah sounds like a sweetie
love the bird pic!! and its great Hannah is being SUCH a big help! love her! : )
Wowza thats a ridic price for pretty much any food I buy!
wooooo…. that’s too expensive for a grain. what about WF? or My organic store? they have it by less I think.
Hannah is so sweet with that note! 😀
I love the pic of the robin. It’s true female robins don’t have a red breast. 🙂
hannah is such a sweetheart! wow 🙂
and good thing you saved tony by providing him with a delish, homemade dinner! did he enjoy the bread?
That quinoa is expensive!
Good thing you saved Tony from that awful looking dinner! I couldn’t even tell that was beef!
What a cute and thoughtful X-mas gift. Yeah, that quinoa is pricey. I get mine at the bulk section of whole foods, but I forgot how much. Definitely not that pricey.

For Quinoa! And just about any nut/fruit/seed/whatever.
And thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
All of your pictures are gorgeous!!! That pizza looks and sounds so yummy, minus the sausage….i’m a vegetarian….haha! 😉 I would definitely re-make that with some fake sausage though!
Wow, that is pricey for quinoa. I can get it in the bulk section for under $1 per 100g (that’s about 3 1/2 oz I think?).
I get my quinoa at Jewel for about $4 a box. It’s in the organic food aisles (the ones with hard wood floors) by the pasta and rice, and other grains. Try there!
