before the snow! On the drive home from the hospital it was raining and as I was driving the last mile it started sleeting. Now its mostly sleet and snow. But I am safe and sound at home!
I made a quick breakfast while I was making my food to bring to the hospital. Two slices of everything bread, 1 piece of cooked bacon, 1/4 cup egg beaters and .6 ounces of swiss.
So I packed a lunch to bring to the hospital and about half way there I realized that I forgot it on the counter! 🙁 I had to stop at the store anyway, so I picked up sushi for me and Tony – not much to choose from – either California rolls or spicy tuna.
I took some pics of my drive downtown. Chicago is very bike friendly!
One thing I don’t like about driving downtown is all the crazy intersections!
And more great hospital food. (kidding!) Today’s lunch menu: beef stroganoff – I took one bite of a piece of meat and half of it was pure fat! But I love that they put fresh vegetables on the tray, then put the tray in a hot box:
So it took me about an hour and 20 minutes to get home from the hospital – it was so windy!
Happy to say that Tony and I got to lay together and watch the Sox game this afternoon – I think only like 8 days until opening day already! They took off all the dressings on his leg and its looking really good. They may even get him into PT tomorrow.
Hannah couldn’t figure out how to do a guest post without me, but she did make beer bread while I was gone – so good!
So right now I have oven fries in the oven and we are going to have pork bbq sandwiches which is thawing right now. Off to finish putting that together – see you later!
awwww i’m glad you and tony got to spend some time together!
SO glad you made it home before the winter freak storm started!! That last pic of your drive that you took, with the Heifer International sign is about 2 blocks from the apartment I lived in right before I moved out to the burbs!!
Hugs to you and Tony (even though you’re Sox fans!)
How weird is tha??t!!
Glad you are home safely and that Tony seems to be recovering well.
That bread looks great!
glad you both are home and safe! 😀
Glad you are home safe and sound…and I’m glad Tony is healing so nicely!
Glad you made it back!
I love the trail mix! =D
I just finished eating pork bbq myself!
I’m so scared to drive downtown, I agree – it’s very hectic and nobody pays attention to anything.
Oh, I hate when I forget my lunch on the counter! That’s too bad. At least the grocery store sushi looks fresh. Sometimes it can be sketchy.
Glad you made it home before it got bad, just having rain here in good ole central Illinois
