OMG, it was so good! Seriously though, before I met Tony I don’t think I would ever step foot into a sushi bar! I really have come a long way in trying new things. Growing up the only vegetable I would eat was lettuce and cucumbers, never had peppers, broccoli, baby spinach – and now those are staples in my fridge!
![p2120063-640x480 here's where we went](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120063-640x480.jpg)
Hannah and I started out with miso soup – so good! I left the scallions though!
I love the dishes they have there:
Tony started out with a Happy Avo: It’s raw tuna and white fished served in an avocado bowl and an amazing sauce that really works well with the avocado – that’s the only part I try!
![p2120073-640x480 We never even saw this on the menu before until we were leaving and stopped in our tracks and had to ask what it was!](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120073-640x480.jpg)
Hannah and I ended up splitting four appetizers. This one has to be my favorite: Age-Dashi Tofu – its fried tofu in the most amazing sauce. I asked and they said its corn starch on the outside – and even though its fried, it is not greasy at all. Just a slight crunch on the outside and creamy goodness on the inside:
Next up was Yakitori, which is teriyaki glazed chicken on skewers. It was good, but there were only two small skewers on the dish and it was $5!
Next then was the gyoza – Japanese style dumplings that have chicken and veggies. Love that one side is crunchy!
And last but not least we split Shumai – deep fried shrimp dumplings. The sauce on top really makes this dish – kind of a hot mustard?
![p2120082-640x480 kind of a blurry picture!](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120082-640x480.jpg)
Now onto the raw stuff!
![p2120084-640x480 This is Tony's plate!](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120084-640x480.jpg)
Tony’s plate was a Rainbow roll (the roll in front) which is a California roll with a variety of fish on top. Then he got salmon, tuna, a tuna roll, sweet shrimp, a salmon skin hand roll and his favorite fatty tunawhich he says tastes like buddah!
![p2120095-640x480 he literally closes his eyes when he eats this - if there's a heaven this is what they are serving!](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120095-640x480.jpg)
I had a portion of his Rainbow roll – the part that’s cooked!
![p2120092-640x480 dipped in wasabi ginger soy sauce - yum!](http://biz319.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/p2120092-640x480.jpg)
And my drink this evening? Kirin Light. Only 95 calories a beer! Now I really have no idea how many calories my dinner was, but I don’t really care. I had 700 to spend so I am calling it a wash!
So can anyone guess the tab for 3 people eating sushi??
So happy there is a new Office and I don’t have to clean a kitchen! I still have some shrimp left over from last night and am contemplating throwing together a shrimp quiche tonight for breakfast tomorrow – we’ll see! Night all!
I was going to guess $50 ish. How did that all come to $101?! Must be an expensive sushi joint. And you so have to get into the raw stuff. I love raw salmon sushi, it’s awesome 😀 Agedashi tofu is another of my faves.
Matt was closest! $101!
LOVE sushi. For 2 of us…it usually comes to $60. So I am going to say $80 since you all just split appetizers.
