Okay, so I came REALLY close to my $100 challenge! A couple things accidentally fell in my cart – this being one of them!
I also bought two pommegranites for $3 – turns out Hannah loves pom seeds! And she bought some chocolate chips to make cookies for a couple of her teachers. That being said . . . drum roll please. . .
Here’s what my loot looks like:
And we got a lot of meat!

So I don’t think I did too bad! Also, great finds at the thrift store – ALL THEIR CLOTHES WERE 50% OFF! Hannah already put them in the wash, but I got a pink J. Jill long sleeve shirt, 1 pair of Dockers brown corduroy boot cut pants, 1 pair of black pin striped pants, and 1 pair of Gap light brown stretch pants – everything came to $10.50!
I’ll post my recipes as I make them. See you after dinner!
I know this post is way old, but I’m a new mother definitely trying to buy groceries on a $100 budget. Where did you shop?!?
I actually shop at a local grocery store that is not a chain. It has amazing produce and a really good cheap deli. When I grocery plan, I usually think of something that will serve two or three meals.
Say I buy a whole roasted chicken one night for dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. I’ll pick off all the meat and make chicken and cheese enchiladas with the leftovers, and then use the carcass of the chicken to make chicken noodle soup. Hope that helps! Send me an email at mybizzykitchen@gmail.com if you need more help! 😀
potato-horseradish crusted fish??? PLEASE share the recipe!
Wow that’s great and a lot of meals for 100 bucks!
All that food and clothes, too, for less than $115?! You are a shopping guru!
I try to plan my meals in advance also. I’ve been in a rut as far as lunches go – need to look for some new ideas.
Great job shopping!!
I hope to some day be this organized with my groceries – it takes a lot of effort so kudos to you 🙂
I figure it’s just easier to reply here 😀
I do make a meal plan and list before hitting the store! We ran out of a lot of stuff that I had to buy this round.. though I should have just saved the stuff like garbage bags & dryer sheets for Walmart, I didn’t feel like going there on a Saturday!
Wow you did great! My groceries came up to $107 today and the only ‘meat’ I got was Tilapia, lol!
Wow, great shopping! You did awesome! And I love how you have everything planned!
