That’s how dinner was decided. I asked Tony what he felt like and he said “how about Chinese?” Sold! I ordered something different, very unusual for me! it was called Ma Pou Tofu, and when I google imaged it, there were several different dishes, so I really didn’t know what to expect!
Here’s what I got:
So once I took the lid off, I was like, “Oh, its soup!” Not really. The liquid was kind of like gelatin? I can’t explain the consistency. I ended up spooning out the tofu and drizzling it with the chili oil that was on the side. It was good, but for a $6 dish, it was really just the tofu. I got szechwan string beans as a side dish – so good! I like that the green beans are al dente and they weren’t too spicy for Hannah to enjoy.
Hannah is baking brownies that smell amazing! Luckily they are being shipped far away from our house!
It’s a Wonderful Life is on t.v., but I hate the commercials! We have it on dvd and I hope to watch it WITHOUT commercials soon!
It’s raining now, but I should be happy its not snow! I think our temps are supposed to get up to around 45 degrees tomorrow ! Have a great night and I’ll see you tomorrow!
I make that mapo tofu dish at home! It looks a little different from what you got, but its really yummy to me =) Thats great you tried something new!!
Yum – potstickers and egg rolls 🙂
Oh yum…Love da’ Chinese takeout.
Glad your second batch of biscotti turned out. Gotta hate it when you goof up a recipe but at least you’ll still be able use the first batch.
I’ve never had tofu…it just doesn’t look appetizing to me. It’s hard to try something new when you eat out…specially when you have a tried and true favorite!
Oh wow, delicious! Oh the green beans look great!
The tofu dish looks interesting. Good job on trying something new – I tend to stick to the same old, but it’s fun to branch out every now and then. And it sounds like it worked out okay.
That is so brave of you to order the *not* usual! That is always my goal- but I end up sticking with what I always order. Glad it was a good choice!
mmmmm…….Sizchuan food!!!! Spicy and yummy~~~~~
Sorry about the tofu, I don’t know what dish is that one although I’m chinese. I guess it’s another american-chinese dish.
enjoy your night.
