Okay, one sure sign that my blood sugar is low is profuse sweating.  I know its lunch time, and probably the most appetizing thing to read while possibly eating your lunch, but its the darn truth!

The only bad thing is that when you are working out, um, you tend to sweat!  I checked my blood sugar before going down to work out and it was 150 – which is perfect.  It will probably go down to 90 or 100, which is still fine.  If it had been 90 or 100 before I worked out, I would have had to have about 15 grams of carbs so I don’t bottom out while working out.

So today I did 40 minutes of elliptical, and did 30 minutes of arm weights at the same time (2 pound weights, but after 30 minutes, my arms killed!).  So all of a sudden, 25 minutes in, its as if I am taking a shower that’s how sweaty I became!  Quick blood sugar test, I was 48 and dropping.

Luckily, I always carry around glucose tabs with me – I ended up eating two and by the time I got back to my desk, my blood sugar was back up to 112.  The nice thing about the glucose tabs is they were VERY quickly, and I was able to continue the workout.  Nice!

So on to lunch.  Yesterday I was starving after eating, so I am adding more calories to my lunch today to see how that works out.

Lunch:

  • 1 cup homemade chili
  • 2 cups salad greens with diced mixed peppers
  • .5 ounce fresh mozzarella, diced
  • 1 ounce tortilla chips
  • my trusty Tabasco!
  • large glass of water (I need to fill up my bubba keg!)
562 calories, 28 fat, 13 fiber (nice!), 55 carbs, 20 protein

So psyched!  Just confirmed today that my twin sister and I are going to be meeting up with fellow food blogger Roni of www.ronisweigh.com and www.greenlitebites.com!  She’s lost tons of weight on Weight Watchers, but more importantly, has kept them off!  She also has the most adorable cooking videos with her son “the toddler” who tends to eat peppers while Roni is cooking.  It is too cute!  If you haven’t already (but sure you have!) check out her great sites.

We are meeting at Water Tower’s food court on Sunday – too bad the weather isn’t going to be as warm as it has been, but it should be fun!

Lunch break is over. . . see you at dinner!
