Soup

Yesterday was a weird work day.  My boss had a brief due, which sometimes can mean it’s a high level stress day, or she ends up doing it all by herself.  I just never know.  I got in early, and hour and 45 minutes early because she had some edits to the brief and wanted those edits done before she got in.  Um, the edits? ...

Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! Biz is still on break and we still don’t have any updates on Tony. But that’s no reason I can’t hijack her account to and post something too. Today I bring you my semi-famous Potato Soup recipe. I came up with this maybe a decade ago and although I keep promising myself that I’ll improve it someday, that never happens....

Thank you for all your comments on yesterday’s post!  I have yet to respond to them personally, but I will in the next couple days.  I love you guys! In an effort to turn my frown upside down, I decided yesterday that I would pick just three things throughout the day that made me happy and smile.  First off, I LOVE singing in the car. ...

Did you guys know that yesterday was National Squirrel Day??!!  I laughed when Tony told me that, and thought it was apropos that I had a picture of the non-Kyle squirrel on my blog post yesterday. Yep.  Every inch of my being wanted to stay warm and toasty in bed.  I knew it was going to be cold, but nothing braces you for it.  I...

I am sure by now everyone in the grips of this cold, subzero weather is not only sick of hearing about it, but also sick of living it!   The heat went out again overnight.  The icicle formed on the outside pipe again sometime in the middle of the night.  We sleep with a small space heater in our bedroom – its toasty posty in there! ...

I had time to take a quick 30 minute walk before work.  I only put on a light jacket because it was sunny outside.  Um, I quickly regretted that decision – it was cold!  But after a few minutes I warmed up so I just sucked it up. And Lisa, this picture is for you!  Lisa was reading my blog for a while before she...

So here’s the deal with my feet.  Not only can I not wear flip flops anymore, I don’t think I can go barefoot for any length of time without some sort of arch support.  I cooked a lot on Sunday, and after standing in the kitchen, by night time I had to ice my right foot. I did my Classic Stretch for 30 minutes yesterday...

Well I think I have figured out that its my shoes that’s been causing my foot problem.  Over the weekend I wore my beloved flip flops.  My right foot pain was really driving me crazy, and I wasn’t even sure I would be able to work out at lunch.  But I wore my Born shoes to work yesterday, and the more I walked in those...

I have Suzi to thank for the idea of the breakfast banana boats.  She posts all her food and the other day I saw she had this banana that had strawberries, bananas, granola and chocolate sauce drizzled over the top – it looked so cool I told her I was going to steal the idea, and I did.  I made my bosses the same as...

Every weekend when I make my SIL’s lunches for the week, I’ve been adding a loaf of my artisan bread for my nephew each week.  In fact, when his Mom is on his way over to pick up her food, he’ll ask “make sure you bring back the bread!” So when I got ready to make the dough for the bread, I realized I was...
