Homemade Ferrero Rocher
My stepson Joe LOVES Ferrero Rocher. It became a joke every birthday and Christmas to get him a giant package. I think he’ll love my homemade Ferrero Rocher!
What is Ferrero Rocher?
Ferrero Rocher is a popular chocolate confection made by the Italian company Ferrero. It consists of a whole roasted hazelnut covered in a thin wafer shell, filled with hazelnut chocolate cream, and coated in milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. The entire treat is wrapped in a distinctive gold foil, making it visually elegant and adding to its luxury appeal. Known for its rich flavor and satisfying crunch, Ferrero Rocher is often associated with special occasions and gifting.
What kind of nuts are in ferrero rocher?
The first question that I know I will get asked is “Biz, there are no hazelnuts in your version!” My recipe uses crunchy peanut butter which is still just as delicious and way less expensive than hazelnuts.
With a few simple ingredients, this recipe is great for a hostess gift, a gift for neighbors or on your next dessert table this holiday season. The malted milk powder is delicious! I found it at Walmart.
To shape the balls, simple grab a heaping tablespoon and form the balls with your hands.
These are not only spectacularly delicious, they are also insulin worthy too.
Homemade Ferrero Rocher
My stepson LOVES Ferrero Rocher. Here is my copycat version, using peanuts that are in peanut butter because hazelnuts are pricey.
Ingredients
- 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 1 cup chocolate Chex cereal, crushed
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup malted milk powder
- 1 cup melting chocolate
- 1 tablespoon sugar (mine was gold colorered)
Instructions
- Mix the peanut butter, Chex, powdered sugar, and malted milk powder together.
- Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave safe dish, 30 seconds at a time at 50% power.
- Repeat until the chocolate is melted.
- Cover the balls in chocolate, and while the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with decorative sugar.
- The chocolate will harden after 10 minutes.

Do you measure the Chex before or after you crush them.
Sorry I missed this comment, but yes, I measured the chex before crushing.
Its just mouth-watering good. Will try it out this weekend.
Thank you! Let me know what you think. 😁
