What a whirlwind weekend! I got up early like I do every Saturday. It was weigh in week 3 after I turned my switch in the “on” position and stopped eating like an asshole. I lost 2.4, then 3, and then Saturday another 1.1 – whoop! 6.5 pounds in three weeks!
Guess what I am doing? Following the program and exercising. I am only successful when I do both of those things at the same time. How many times did I think I could out workout the stuff I ate. It feels good!
Saturday I was invited to a WW meet up in Oak Brook for lunch. I was so excited to meet some ladies who I have been friends with online for a long time.
Such a fun time! I got to see Lexi again below – I met her last June when our New York WW peeps came into town. She’s the same age as Hannah. You can find her on instagram at SheSparklesLike Champagne. š
I pre tracked my lunch before I even got there. I got the mussels and shared the brushetta – with the piece of bread I had for dipping, lunch came in at 12 points.
I found out Z lives right by me – I can’t remember how to spell her name, but she said just to call her Z. So nice to meet you!
I realized I didn’t take that many pictures – I was so busy talking and meeting with everyone – Shawna, Francine, Courtney, and the others (I forgot my cheat sheet of all the names at home!) it was so great meeting you!
After lunch I hit up Whole Foods. I had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet. My friend Courtney recently was in New York and had these power balls and she put them on her story and said something like “Biz, you have to help me recreate these at home!”
But I only had the list of ingredients on the top of the package. She told me it was kind of like a healthy chocolate truffle, so that helped me a bit. One of the ingredients was Maca Powder, but turns out pregnant women should not use that – it’s great to use BEFORE getting pregnant, but not during pregnancy or breast feeding – huh. So I left that out. My friend Courtney is pregnant with her third child – A GIRL! So excited.
And turns out cacao powder is not cocoa powder – cacao powder is a super food – cacao powder is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans, which retains the living enzymes and removes the fat – in turn cacao powder has more calories and fiber since most of the nutrients of the whole bean are intact.
It looks just like cocoa powder to me. It’s supposed to help with inflammation, better blood flow and lower blood pressure – who knew?!
My only insight to the recipe – these ingredients – but what portions of what?! I love that about recipe developing though – trial and error, but somehow my first time around I was really happy with how they tasted – I lucked out!

I forgot how much I love hazelnuts – so good!
I think Rummy wanted one!
I was able to drop them off to her on our way to Oak Park to meet my Mom for lunch. She gave them two thumbs up! Happy to help Courtney!
Hi Momma! Um, is it even a Sunday brunch if you don’t have a bloody mary? 5 smart points and worth every one. š
I cannot wait to try to recreate that shrimp dish at home – that sauce was amazing, the shrimp were flavorful spicy and the black rice was so delicious.
We didn’t get home until 4:30, and I still hadn’t finished my StepBet steps for the day (I was still 5,000 short by that time) and I had started a 500 flights in 7 days challenge last Monday, and I didn’t go to the gym on Saturday, so I had to do 146 flights to meet my goal.
Guess what? I did it! I took me 90 minutes, but I finished out what I said I would do. So proud of myself. In case you are wondering, it took me 55 minutes on the Stair Master to do 156 flights including the cool down.
My blood sugar was 238 when I walked in the gym, and 90 minutes later it dropped to 69, but I did it. And turns out Planet Fitness is a ghost town on Sunday night š
And here we are back to Monday. The weekend went by way too fast, but I think I only have plans on Thursday or Friday night to eat out when my cousin comes to town. I plan on getting busy in my kitchen this week, I’ve had so many things going on, I miss being bizzy in my kitchen.
Tonight I’ll be making chicken egg rolls in my air fryer – can’t wait!
Happy Monday friends – make it a great day, and don’t eat like an asshole.
Love, Biz
All that food looks so amazing and happy to know you will be recreating it for all of us to try. So, in you opinion, are the date balls worth the points? They look and sound delicious but I don’t think I could eat just one.
The balls were tasty AF, but not worth the points to me. My friend Courtney is a size 0-2 and pregnant, so calories don’t matter to her š
