My office got new computers recently and I was lucky enough to score not only a new to me laptop, but a new desktop as well. My desktop computer is probably six or seven years old and it’s been driving me crazy lately. I was going to install the new desktop last night, but I was on dog duty. Both Jacob and Hannah worked last night and Roman had been in his crate since about 1:30 and I got home around 6:00. Both dogs were craving human contact, so we lounged around on the couch until the kids got home. We didn’t even eat dinner until 9:30!
It took me 20+ minutes to download my pictures this morning – gah! So here is a quick recap of my day:
Breakfast baked potato, gorgeous walk in 55 degrees weather, Roz – check out the random heart I found on my walk! I cooked my spaghetti squash at home and wrapped it in a dish cloth and didn’t scrape it until lunch time. I think that’s the secret to getting the strands, is to let it cool completely. I always nuke mine for 7 minutes for a medium sized one. Lunch was a quick Italians sausage sauce, but I don’t have time to post the recipe this morning, but I will soon – I made it in 15 minutes before work yesterday! And that was pretty much Roman from the time I got home, laying on me and sleeping. Finally dinnah! I made a pork lo mein using Tastefully simple orange sriracha sauce – yum!
I am looking forward to dinner tonight – my long time blog reader and friend Randi is coming through town with her wife before they head up to Wisconsin so I am meeting them at the hotel for dinner after work. We met a couple (three?!) years ago the last time they were in the area, as they live in California. Always fun to get together with blog readers!
And with that, I am off – hopefully after I switch out the computer tonight I won’t have these problems anymore. Question of the day: How many of you still use desktop computers? Wondering if most people have switches exclusively to laptops!
Make it a great day!
Sleepy puppy face—heart melting!
oooo- a breakfast baked potato? Yummmm!
I use a laptop, but my husband loves his desktop.
I switched from desktop to a laptop almost 2 years ago. My desktop was upstairs and I didn’t want to sit upstairs all the time. We shared a laptop back then but that’s now in the garage of R. I use the Ipad for playing games and sometimes look things up. R. uses the Ipad and his Iphone more for surfing the internet than I do.
Love the pictures of your day!
Desktop for serious work (processing video, using Photoshop) – I use two monitors and love all the screen space!
Laptop or tablet for travels (light web surfing, etc.)
My boss keeps talking me into the two monitors but I just can’t get into it 😀
All-in-one 23 inch screen Desktop for me. Recently switched to Windows 10, now that was a learning curve, but I am getting used to it. Have thought about getting an I-Pad….but that will have to wait since I just invested in Microsoft office which I never had in this computer. I so hate computer problems. Food looks good Biz.
My daughter has an iPad but it didn’t work for school because there is no USB. I hate windows 10!
Thanks for the compliments on the food – I got my second Blue Apron in the mail today, although two of them will be lunches for me – a curry chicken soup and a lentil bolognese I am going to share with my co-worker – Hannah and Jacob had no interest in either of those!
I use a desktop most of the time. I have a work-issued laptop that I use a bit on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but that’s about it.
I am going to try out the laptop for a while and see if I like it, who knows I may end up liking it more than the desktop!
That lo mein looks delicious. I just bought that sauce from Tastefully simple but have not tried it yet. Have you tried their bayou bourbon sauce? OMG amazeballs!
What?? I didn’t see that in the catalog! I’ll have to look for it 😀
You know I type all day and I use a laptop! It’s way more comfortable on my back than sitting at a desk.
OMG, I can’t imagine you using a desktop for your job – plus where would your cat sit?!
I still use a desktop computer. I had a laptop for a few weeks and really hated the keyboard. I gave it to my daughter and she loved it. 🙂
I have Tony’s old laptop, but it’s windows based and I hated it. Glad your daughter can use yours though!
I hate computer problems. I have them so much I’m beginning to thing there’s something wrong with me! :p
What a delicious day of eats. Everything looks absolutely amazing. Drool worthy! ~Lori
Thanks Lori – wish we were neighbors, I’d share! 😀
I swear by my Mac desktop. It has a 27-inch screen!! I’ve thought about getting a laptop but I think I’d still want my desk top. I guess I’ll have to make that decision when the time comes–or Santa comes through. I do have an IPad that I tote around with me in the house and out.
Best,
Bonnie
Holy shizz – a 27 inch screen?! Wowza! I have a tablet too that I watch Netflix on before going to bed 😀
