I had leftover dough from our deep dish pizza night and its been ages since I made a breakfast pizza. This time it was ham, fresh basil, one egg, 4 ounces of pizza dough and 1 ounce of mozzarella cheese.
I put it in the oven and then tried and tried to get our dog out. Tony had already left for an early Monday morning meeting and I had no idea how long he would be gone. I finally said the magic words “want to go for a walk?” and that got him outside. Before I knew it we were gone 15 minutes and I ran inside thinking I burned the shit out of my breakfast, but I got it just in time. Whew! I actually ate it in the car on the way to work.
This pizza comes in at 444 calories, 15 fat, 49 carbs, 4 fiber and 26 protein. The crust was nice and crunchy.
I ran some errands at lunch – with temps near 100 there is no way in hell that I am working out at lunch. I went and picked up travel size shampoos, etc. for my quart size bag for the plane tomorrow. I am not a huge fan of flying, and especially get nervous when I fly alone, but I know it will be fine.
Right by Walgreen’s was a Mexican restaurant I never paid attention to before. I ended up picking up two chicken tacos for lunch – trust me there is really tasty shredded chicken under all the lettuce! And they gave me two unphotographed salsas, one red and one green. I could have licked the red salsa out of the container it was a perfect blend of spicy flavorful.
I also love the fresh squeezed lime over tacos too. My guess is these two tacos come in at 440 calories, 28 fat, 22 carbs, 4 fiber and 31 protein.
I ended up stopping at a friends house to say hello on my way home. She’s one of my former co-workers that I actually keep in touch with. I am horrible about staying in touch with people I used to work with.
So I got home about 30 minutes later than usual. But dinner was a snap – literally ready in 10 minutes. I had super thin pork chops, corn on the cob and leftover cole slaw from my office lunch last week. Since the chops were so thin, they literally cooked in about 4 minutes.
The corn was delicious and I ate about 3/4 of my pork chop and gave the rest to our dog. In total this plate comes in at 512 calories, 29 fat, 34 carbs, 2 fiber and 21 protein.
So I will pack tonight. Seriously, Hannah has been packing my clothes since she was about 8 years old so I hope I do okay! I plan on only having my purse and only a carry-on since I have to switch planes.
I also have to go through the fridge tonight and freeze any leftovers that are in there because Tony will not touch them while I am gone.
I’ve let the heat be an excuse not to work out – I haven’t worked out since I think last Thursday. And I know this week at my Aunt’s house there is going to be lots of food, so I have to really be conscious not to let this be a reason to eat like shit and that I’ll “get back on” next Monday when I am back into my routine.
Heather, I watched this video and totally thought of you!
So today is my Friday – make it a great day! Anyone else have a short week because of the holiday??
Good luck on your flight! I have been bad about working out cause of the heat too .. it just makes me not want to do anything! 🙂 Except eat of course!
That pizza looks yummy! Good luck on your flights, and I hope you enjoy some time with your family. I am of tomorrow and Thursday but go back to work on Friday.
I know what you mean about flying. But it will be great!
And I am loving the sound of that breakfast pizza. Amazing! 🙂
Hi Vat. All the best for the flights tomorrow. Breakfast pizza? yes please!
Hope your trip goes well, Biz. Have safe flights and just thing really hard before you go overboard with eating if it is worth keeping you from your goal!
Have a safe trip Biz, I hear you on flying alone! Take some of your food mags with you! 🙂
Enjoy your family and memories of your Uncle and have a good time.
I’m having a party here, the weather is suppose to be good, it rained here all night though, tomorrow the temps are suppose to be in the high 60’s……… I’ll take it though!!!
Safe travels and remember, you are not going to Mars so you can buy anything you forget! (But, I agonize over packing so obviously can’t take my own advice…)
Hope your trip is successful! I am a nervous traveler, too. That’s why I buy trashy magazines to read on the plane 🙂
Yep – People magazine is my go to trashy magazine – total guilty pleasure!
Yum, your breakfast pizza looks good. The chicken tacos sound good right about now 🙂 Enjoy your time with your family Biz and reading on the plane helps me. I just get nervous about take-off and landing. I have Wednesday off but, that’s it…seems to be a strange day off but, I’ll take it!
Good luck on your flights!!!!!!!
And thanks for the video – total goosebumps, Biz!
Happy 4th. 🙂
I am confident you’ll get there one day Heather! 😀
I love when I make it to the oven JUST in time! I always think…totally did that on purpose ;). I need Mexican food in my life ASAP. Have a safe safe trip
I couldn’t comment on your site Erica – but I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love Baby K’s smile on your last post – she’s getting so big! 😀
Woo, yay for today being your Friday! I’m back in on Thursday, boo. 🙂 Those tacos look so yummy…maybe I need to grab tacos for lunch!
Breakfast looks amazing! I need to do a better job about eating breakfast…I’m terrible about it sometimes! It’s a short work week for the next few weeks since I’m on summer vacation! 🙂
Have a safe trip, Biz. I completely understand….I’m not a fan of flying by myself either!
That pizza looks great! I neve thought about breakfast pizza.
I’ve been thinking about you in this heat. It’s only 80’s here, but that’s a little hot for me working out outside, especially now.
My husband always packs my bag for me too. You know, he packed for a one week business trip for me, and he packed so well that I couldn’t get everything in the duffel to come back, so I had to buy an extra bag.
I love 10 min dinners. Mine last night was 10 min, but it was much less home cooked than yours.
Have a safe trip. Thanks for the offer on the magazines. I’ll appreciate them, but don’t feel like you have to send them!
I am happy to give them to a good home – you can thumb through the magazines when you breast feed your new baby – I hope he comes out soon! 😀
Have a safe flight, Biz! I know how you feel, I’m not the biggest fan of flying either.
Your breakfast pizza looks good! Glad you didn’t burn it! I usually get distracted by the kid when things are in the oven, like “Let’s just pick the tomatoes, Mom,” and before you know it things are burned…
Have a great trip!
I’m actually working the holiday since Mr. Helen has to so it’s just a regular work week for me. I don’t mind though because it means I get to choose when to have a day off another time and you know I’ll choose a Friday or Monday so that I have a long weekend!
Have a safe trip.
Have a safe trip Biz! Enjoy the time with your family. Love the line in the video “brag for the rest of your life.” Ironman triathletes are incredible. I am daunted by the thought of doing even a small triathlon, but I never say never anymore.
I’d do a triathlon again if they let me use a life jacket in the water! 😀 Tony’s face when I got out of the water was priceless!
I have a short week just because I don’t have a real job 🙂
Good luck on your flights – you’ll be fine! I love to fly, but I have been doing it multiple times a year since I was a baby, so it makes sense!
