We are going back 36 years to throwback Thursday. My Dad was our biggest cheerleader (and my Mom too!) but because my Dad worked from home he had a flexible schedule. He came to nearly all my sporting events, and there were a lot!
Field Hockey in the fall, indoor track in the winter, outdoor track in the spring and softball in the summer. Um, I was a bit active back then.
I was a freshman in high school when this picture was taken. It was after a game and my Dad asked me to jump and he’d take a picture. Can I just say that if there was digital photography available to my Dad back then, he’d take 1000 pictures a day.
I was embarrassed at the time, but I loved my Dad, and I did what he asked. I jumped! Turns out this is one of my favorite pictures he took of me.
Time is weird. I have a hard time believing that was 36 years ago. Or that just 9 years from that picture I’d be a Mom. Or that when that picture was taken my Mom was 43 – and I am going to be 51. What?!
Hannah is going to be TWENTY SEVEN years old in March. What?! I mean, I know we look like sisters, but still. #joking
I talked about how I didn’t meal plan this week because I had food to eat. Well, while breakfast was delicious, lunch was probably the worst thing I’ve put together in a long time. It’s hard being me sometimes guys! 😀
Breakfast was delicious – steak and eggs (2), my banana muffin (4), fruit with a sprinkle of Safe + Fare sweet and salty kettle granola (1).
My instagram still isn’t work right. I must have 100 messages like this one – which makes me happy – at least I am missed! I uninstalled and reinstalled Instagram last night, updated the operating system, so hopefully that will help.
Jenn and I walked Macy’s, and found our perfect weekend sweatshirt – NOPE! It was so soft. If I bought it I might put it on on Friday night and not take it off until Sunday night. Um, who am I kidding, I meant Monday morning because I probably wouldn’t take it off.
This is the nasty ass lunch I was talking about. I made a buffalo chicken pasta with my leftover buffalo chicken dip – the first day I made it, it was amazeballs. I had turkey that I chunked into pieces and tossed in BBQ sauce for my protein and blueberries on the side. Can I just say that the cubed turkey looks like watermelon?! Gah.
Luckily I had this snack plate, so from what I ate from lunch and this plate, I had a 6 point lunch/snack.
I didn’t have to work late last night and tried to talk myself out of going to the gym. “It would be nice to just watch t.v. for a couple hours, it’s gross out, etc.” I can come up with 1000 excuses.
When I changed my clothes from work, I dressed into my workout clothes, so that would slowly get me in the right frame of mind while I made dinner.
It was an air fryer challenge – corn tortilla and one Tumaro wrap. The filling was chopped chicken, spinach, hot salsa, and two tablespoons of artichoke jalapeno dip from Trader Joe’s – so the whole filling was only 2 points – and each tortilla was one point.
I sprayed with Pam and after preheating the fryer at 400 for 5 minutes, cooked for 4 minutes a side at 380.
The verdict? Loved the corn tortillas – super crispy, delish. The tumaro wraps had a weird taste cooked – I still love them, but I’ll keep them at room temp for sammies.
When I got to the gym I did 2 miles on the treadmill at 6.0 incline. Then it was onto Day 3 of this 4 week challenge. Hardest for me? The running for 3 minutes and wall sits – but I know it will get easier.
Having once been a four season athlete, I know I can reach my goals – you see when I was on 4 sports I was always ready for the next one – didn’t takes six months (okay – or 12 months!) break of working out consistently.
Still tracking like a boss – Day 6 of tracking every lick, taste and bite. Because I had a 36 point the day before, I intentionally had a lower point day yesterday. It’s all about balance.
Did you do a sport growing up? What was it?! Hoping it was field hockey 😀
Happy Thursday friends – make it a great day and don’t eat like an asshole! Love, Biz
Love you Biz! Yes, you’re still missing from the top of my IG too but you’re unforgettable and I look for you daily! I love your throwback Thursday and the throwback behind it ! I agree, life is just passing by so quickly! Take care and have a great day! Julie @ww_meets_mindfulness
I so would have been rocking the field hockey, I absolutely loved it and actually took an extra pe class my senior year just to be able to play it. We’re the same age, but my small town didn’t have much team sports, especially for girls. Tennis, volleyball, basketball, track or cross country. So I was stuck pretty much with running because I hated the tennis coach even though I loved tennis, I didn’t play it. But the running kept me in shape and kept the belly fat off. I really need to get back to it! Have really hated the thought of yet another electrical kitchen appliance, but you sure are rocking those taq’s! Excellent idea with the going ahead and putting on the workout clothes. That’s something I never would have thought of! Hope your lunch is better today!
I enjoy so much looking at older photos. Maybe it is a generation thing but I enjoy looking at printed photos more than digital ones. I guess I feel the older photos were more real, no filters or photo shop. I like the name you gave your lunch meal. You make me LOL at least once a day so thanks for that. I really like how you do side by side comparisons with things. I did have to laugh the other day on your story when you commented that Hannah says you think all your food is good. I’m not sure what it was but I remember trying something (I think a fat free cheese) and you had said it was good. I tasted it and thought okay, she is a little crazy. I know we all have our own taste preferences but it made me giggle.
