There is no secret to being successful on Weight Watchers. You just have to track your food. That’s it. I don’t think it matters if you are a gym rat, get up at 4:30 to workout before work – that is icing on the cake, but it really just comes down to the food. Turns out if you don’t eat half a bag of Doritos, a box of wine or stop at CVS to pick up gummy bears, you can have a successful week!
Our WW meeting finally got printable stickers! They have had the machine I think for six months before it was up and running.
I will be honest – after having gains the last three weeks, not going to lie, I almost threw in the towel to start over on June 1 – I could have gained 3.8 this last week if I hadn’t gotten my act together.
So I will continue to be a blue dot goal getting this next week, so I can get back down to 20 pounds lost – where I was two months ago – but on the bright side, I am still down 17 pounds so far, and only 21 pounds away from the top of my weight loss goal of 140. If I play my cards right, I could get there by the end of summer!
I realized I never took a picture of my breakfast since I posted my WI. It was an egg white sammie wrap on lavash with fruit for 5 points.
The Weight Watcher meeting was a good one. VALUING yourself. I view that as treating yourself as you would others, something that I am working really hard at doing. Turning negative thoughts into positive ones. Instead of dwelling on where I could be today if I had stayed on track these last couple months, I am giving myself a high five for not giving up even if there is a bump (or bag of Doritos) in the road.
Lunch was I guess what you could call a beef fried rice. One cup rice (6) with veggies, topped with 2 ounces of steak (2) and fresh crunchy bean sprouts. I used House of Tsang Ginger Sriracha stirfry sauce – its only 1 point for 2 tablespoons, but really one tablespoon is enough – its spicy!
I was so busy yesterday afternoon at work, I had to reheat that dish three times before I evenutually just threw it out – I ate about 3/4 of the plate. I was night secretary tonight and didn’t get home until 7:45. Hannah and Jacob are back on their keto diet, so all last night my kitchen smelled like bacon, sausage and chocolate cake. Yep, there is even a keto chocolate cake recipe. It looked amazing – kind of like a giant brownie.
I stopped at the farmers market on the way back from WW and picked up some tofu. Phoenix Bean makes the best tofu – if you find them at any Chicagoland farmers market, I hightly recommend you get some. I bought a different flavor – spicy Asian chili – and the tofu was cut into strips. I made another kind of stirfry – basically to use up the veggies I had in my fridge: zucchini, carrots, and broccoli. I also made 10 mini cilantro wontons for 3 points. Dinner came together in literally 10 minutes and I was able to snap a picture before it got too dark. Dinner was 10 points.
My friend Kris (hey!) sent me a link to a blog post that could not have been more appropriate to how I am feeling.
I know I am not alone in the negative self thinking, but I love how this was worded: even batting .500 puts you in the hall of fame!
One of the tools we did at the end of the meeting yesterday was to give just one word that positively describes you. Some of the words chosen: dedicated, helpful, funny, honest. Do me a favor – can you just leave a comment and tell me one think you are proud of about yourself? Let’s start the weekend off with some self-love to set the right tone for the weekend.
***************
Shelley, it’s been a while since I graced you with a snap chat filter –I thought this one wouldn’t freak you out too much:
I sent that to my family and my brother Charlie responded back: “that crown is so you!”
Have a fabulous Friday my friends! See you on Monday (or on Instagram if you follow me there) 😀
I keep thinking I’ll try WW but I also keep putting it off. One day. You though! You’re doing great! You inspire me in so many ways with positivity, the recipes, your humor, your determination… So much you put out there and it makes a difference with so many. Ok, the word for myself is: hopeful.
I think you are a winner . You make my day , I so enjoy what you write . And you look great in your crown .
Thank you so much Georgette! Your comment made my day this morning 😀
Caring!
Thanks Biz for always inspiring me! You go girl! Keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks Michelle! Hope you had a great weekend!
My word would be ‘organized’. (sometimes that becomes ‘controlling’ or ‘anxious’, but it’s most positive to say ‘organized’ 🙂 Tracking is the key – you are so right!! For me, I would have to be more specific and say ‘tracking all day until bedtime’ because I tend to track fine until supper time…and then I just go off the rails. 🙁 Must change that.
Have a good weekend – sorry I won’t see you, but hope we can get together soon.
I love how you put a positive spin on your organizational skills! 😀 Tracking on the weekend has been key for me – I would do great M-F, but come 5:00 I would think “its the weekend!” and erase everything good I had done the previous 5 days.
Sorry I didn’t get to see you this weekend too, but I totally understand – let me know when your schedule opens up! 😀
Since I had a hard time narrowing down my choices I probably should say self-confident….lol; but instead I will say witty cause I love making people laugh! congrats my friend and thanks for the shout out. Happy weekend.
I’ll take both – self-confident and witty – awesome combination! Happy Monday my friend!
I always forget about bean sprouts, probably because my daughter would have to pick them out if I used them. Silly girl, she loves alfalfa sprouts so I don’t get it. I miss our salad bar place where I could go get a mishmosh of things I liked. Leave it to Charlie to come up with the best comment on your snap chat filter. Great post today! Determined, is my word.
Have a great weekend!
Ah, determination – best word evah! My store sells a bag of bean sprouts for $1 so it’s nice to just throw them on top of stuff. Most times though, I buy them, they get buried in the veggie drawer and I throw them out the following week 😛
Good post — and I wish that “just tracking” would get me those kind of results! I’m still trying to figure out the magic formula – is there one? I think eating half of my weeklies is what I need to start striving for.
Anyhoo – I’d say my word is DEPENDABLE. You ask me to do something or be somewhere and it’s gonna happen.
Have a great weekend.
I eat all my weeklies! The only things I don’t eat are the fit points. My only suggestion is switch things up if the scale isn’t moving. Are you eating too much fruit? Eating the same things, same points at every meal, every day? I know some people eat the same breakfast and lunch during the week for ease, but your body gets used to it.
Try eating 38 points one day, then 28 the next. Dependable is such a great attribute!
Way to go on the loss this week! Woo Hoo. I had a birthday and brought in the cake to the office. Did not want to be tempted! One Word: LOYAL
janis
Hope you had an awesome birthday – I followed along on Facebook 😀 Loyal! Love it 😀
I am an excellent problem solver!! Thanks for the inspiration, Biz!!
That’s awesome Lisa! When there is a will there is a way! Happy Monday my friend 😀
Oh Biz! This post has me teary eyed! I cannot even come up with a positive word for myself! I will work on this and get back to you….
Thank you for all your post….I have been reading you a long time…you are my treat every morning! So glad to see your success:)
Your Canadian Fan!
I am going to hold you to it Michelle – I know you can find one positive word for yourself! Glad I can be part of your day – that makes me happy! 😀
Pretty proud of myself for landing a new job! I start next Monday. Tracking on an app begins today. Going on vacation in August and want to feel good!
Good luck today on your new job!! I love using the WW app on my phone – makes it nearly impossible not to be accurate on what I eat 😀
I have an awesome sense of humor.
Love a great sense of humor! It was one of the first things that my husband said in his online profile that made me laugh out loud. He said “while I am Italian, I am proud to say that I have two separate eyebrows and no back hair!”
Careing
Caring is an awesome trait! 😀
SMART!
Love it!!
Hopeful!
Thanks Biz, today’s post inspired me to begin tracking again. I’m already adjusting my meals because of it. Thank you and keep rocking!
Hopeful – that is a good one! I wish I could be one of those people who can just “mindfully” eat, but I am not there yet. Hope tracking is good to you this week!
You inspired me this week! I came, I tracked, I conquered! AND I’m down 3.2!! I so agree..:it’s all about the food! My word is “caring” 🙂 You rock Biz ❤️
That’s awesome Gail! Yep, I’ve learned that you can never outrun your fork! Hugs and great job!
