Today is International Can It Forward Day! I am so excited to try my new canner – I haven’t checked my sale papers yet, but by this time of year I can usually get Roma tomatoes for .49 cents a pound. There will be lots of salsa to be made!
You can watch the live feed here to watch demonstrations. I think this year I might bring back my Aunt B’s tradition. She used to make pepper jelly every year – if I remember correctly she died the jelly green and added crushed red pepper to make it spicy. It’s perfect on a crack with some cream cheese. You can click here to get templates to make your own canning stickers too.
I loved reading about all your memories about canning – the best part is that being together as a family was just as important as the canning – such great memories were made!
So without further ado, the winner of the Canning Kit and Vintage Ball Glasses is . . .

This is amazing!! We actually just finished our marathon pickling weekend. We did almost 80 quarts of pickles….we too use the old boiling water method…I might have to check into one of those new machines!!
Congratulations Nicole! Send my your mailing address to mybizzykitchen@gmail.com and I’ll forward it on to the company.
I’ve got to get my cleaning pants on today – my Mom’s coming over tomorrow, I think for the first time this summer because of her travel schedule and our trips to the hospital. Looking forward to having her over! Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs!

Can’t wait to see your kitchen filled with jars and jars of salsa. Hope you and your Mom get to have some quality girl time. It would be even better if Hannah could join you too.
