Thanks for everyone’s patience on my $25 Cabot Cheese giveaway – I posted it on April 6, and then with all the work drama quickly forgot about it. š Really, how could I forget the cheese?!
There were some wonderful entries, but I narrowed it down to my Top 5 and will pick a winner from that group.
First up: Debbi Does Dinner Healthy made a simple but delicious apple and cheese sandwich – I’ve always loved the apple/cheese combo, and my Dad actually used to melt cheddar cheese on top of his apple pie – at the time I thought that was simply gross, but now I get the sweet/savory combo. And look at the glorious melty cheese! š
Next up is Candace – I love her Thai Breakfast tacos and maybe the use of sriracha put it over the edge for me! š
Next up is Sara for her roasted red pepper goat cheese quesadillas – she had me at goat cheese though! š
Next up is Melissa from I Was Born To Cook – with her goat cheese, grape and pecan truffles.
Next up is Heather from Girlichef with her Whole Wheat Goldfish. How cute are they??!!
And the winner is . . . . Heather! I love, love, love goldfish, and as soon as I find that fish cutter I plan to make these – congrats! Send me an email at mybizzykitchen@gmail.com and I’ll forward it to Cabot cheese so you can get your loot.
Tony and I were picking up our new dishwasher which was right near Weight Watchers. Than plan was to both get up – he’d drop me off at WW, go pick up the dishwasher and then come back and get me after my meeting. We woke up at 7:45 – the dog got into bed, and the next thing we know its 8:35! Um, the meeting started at 8:30!
But I found there was a 10:00 meeting, so I went in and weighed in . . .
I met all my goals except for one last week – I had wine, which I know I have to kick to the curb during the week. I am glad I am still more than 10 pounds lost so I can keep my sticker!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far – hopefully by this afternoon I’ll have a working dishwasher!
Question of the Day: Do you have a dishwasher or do you wash by hand? I’ve had a dishwasher for almost 11 years now and I can’t imagine not having one. My 70 year old Mom is getting her first dishwasher installed next week!
See you Monday!
I’ve been meaning to try those goldfish crackers! Great choice!
I love my dishwasher – just got it about a month ago as a replacement for our old worn-out one. With all the cooking that you do, I’d imagine that it is a necessity!
go girl! great job on the weight loss and congrats on the win heather!
i’ve always had a dishwasher. i know people that prefer washing by hand, but i’m pretty lazy, i like my dishwasher!
I hated it when I had no dish washer…it really hurts my back to stand over the sink washing dishes. I hope she likes hers!
All those cheesy recipes look soooo good! I can’t wait to try them. Goat cheese in particular is definitely a weakness of mine.
We have a dishwasher, but the apartment I lived in right out of college didn’t and I got so used to washing dishes by hand, that when I first moved in with hubs I just did it by habit! Now I don’t know what we’d do without the dishwasher… although we’re reaaally bad about emptying it!
Those fish are DARLING! Congrats to the winner – well deserved!!!
I cannot imagine not having a dishwasher. I sure as hell wouldn’t cook a portion of what I do now, that’s for sure! I throw EVERYTHING in that bad boy. Between the 2 of us, it gets run at LEAST 4x a week. Kinda pathetic…
I was up at WI yesterday, too. 0.8. My scales said -0.2, but I guess that’s the risk you take in weighing-in at different meeting locations. Oh well. Next weekend will be in Chicago, so maybe their scales will be more favorable š
My dishwasher is named Michelle (me). I would love the luxury of a dishwasher. Wish I could get one just for silverware.
Wooo congrats on the weight loss! And I have a dishwasher and would die without it. When I lived on my own I didn’t have one and it wasn’t pretty.
I am so making the breakfast tacos this week!
Congrats to the winner and the finalists – wow that all looks so good. I checked out where to buy the cookie cutter for the goldfish and they have a bunch of other small shapes. I want to make whales! lol
And now I really want an apple and cheese sammich. YUM!
Dang I missed the contest LOL, hope you have a great weekend.
Congrats to Heather–those crackers are so cute! I haven’t had a dishwasher since I left home but I’d LOVE one! Our kitchen just doesn’t have the space so we’ll do them by hand until we move.
After not having a dishwasher for the first 1o years we were married I was thrilled when we finally had a new house built and I got a dishwasher. I will never be without one again!
I still wash many things by hand but I seem to dirty so many dishes when I cook I can still fill the dishwasher and wash a sink full of dishes! Oh well, it’s fun.
All of those cheese recipes look yummy!
I am massively addicted to Goldfish, so I need to check that out š
Go you on the weight loss!
We have one that gets run about once every 2-3 days. I love loading it, but hate unloading it! And it’s a pain, as I can’t even open it around my 19 month old, as he squeals with delight and runs over trying to take everything out, then gets mad when I try to shut it! Needless to say, I try to only open/close it when he isn’t around….
We have a dishwasher at our all the time house, but not at the beach house. It sure is annoying not to have one there!
Thanks for picking me as one of the top five – a great group to be a part of! Glad you liked the recipe!
And, those goldfish are SO CUTE! Love them!!
oh my goodness- those Whole Wheat Goldfish are so cute! I never even thought to try and home-make them. Deliciousness. Whoops- I’ve totally done the wake up/go back to sleep thing on the weekend before š Hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful. I both hand wash and dish wash. I try to only run the dish washer 2-3 times per week, but I’m sure this will increase by A LOT once we have the peanut
Very honored to have made your top 5…thanks! And don’t cut back on the wine TOO much š
