Um, not so much. Tony and I had given up on having a garden. The amount of work, staving off critters who would eat our bounty the day before picking it. But we love tomatoes. Well, I love making things out of tomatoes, not actually eating them whole! The Topsy Turvy was going to be our garden salvation!
And then Tony and I pondered on what to do with it – make salsa? make a huge pot of sauce?
I have to blame myself – we had a nice potted tomato plant, and I decided to shove it into a topsy turvy – never again! But we did get one perfect tiny cherry tomato! 😀
But I need to start at the beginning. Breakfast was two kid size flat out bread with 1/2 ounce mozzrella, 1/5 ounce steak and 1 large scrambled egg.
And lunch was 3 ounces of shrimp, 4 ounces of broccoli, 1 large carrot, and 1 package of yaki – soba noodles. This whole plate comes in at 318 calories, 1.4 fat, 25 protein, 50 carbs and 4.2 fiber.
I defrosted some chicken legs and thighs and decided to make fried chicken for dinner. I thought of making mashed potatoes on the side, but once the deep fryer got going, I decided to make homemade chips!
My plate: 1 fried chicken leg, 1.0 ounce of fried chips and green beans with 1 tablespoon of Caesar dressing.

I am in the process of making crab bisque soup! I am trying to make a shellfish broth with the crab shells, and I picked off the rest of the meat from the knuckles and legs:

Haha, well at least it’s a cute baby tomato!? Homemade chips are so yummy! There’s a restaurant by me that makes their own and I have no restraint.
HA – love the pic of Tony – he is totally deep in thought. I have considered a topsy turvey a couple times and never got around to purchasing it…glad to hear it wasn’t worth it!
Have a great weekend!
I had the same thing happen to my topsy turvey, although I gave up on it because nothing was happening and I have 2 pea sized red tomatoes!! I’ll probably make spaghetti sauce from it!
Aw, your poor one little tomato. My mom bought a few of those topsy turvy things and never got any tomatoes!
The steak on your b-fast sammie looks SO good, I must say.
Thanks Biz!!
🙂
LOL – love the picture of the tomato, and Tony with the tomato!
My topsy turvy did not work either. I wonder if other people had trouble with theirs as well?
But isn’t it the most beautiful tomato you’ve ever seen?!!! Sorry your tomato plant didn’t do so well. Better luck next year! 🙂
Dinner looks great. And I can’t wait to see how the crab bisque turned out. Sounds absolutely delicious!
Oh Biz! That pic of Tony contemplating the lone cherry tomato nearly put me over the edge!!! Hysterical! I giggled like a fool. hahahaa
I thought the potatoes were going to be deep fried pickles at first! I was reading and just saw thin slices of something! hehe 😛 I’ve had them once in Mississippi – interesting to say the least!
