OMG, dinner was amazing. The service, the food, the ambiance – well, it was a quiet Thursday night, but we got a booth, which I love – I’ve always hated tables in the middle of the dining room – I’ve learned that once I go to a restaurant, what the best tables are, and then request them the next time we go.
It was dimly light, but romantic, so while the pictures didn’t turn out that great, I loved the setting!
We both ended up getting the summer menu –
We ended up getting an appetizer – and while the shrimp was good – I think $13 for 4 shrimp is a bit pricey!
The soup selection was tomato with crab, and my first concern was that it was going to be chunky – but once I heard the server say “pureed” I was in. Seriously, hands down the best tomato soup I’ve had in a restaurant!
It was tart, creamy and of course the lump crab on top didn’t hurt either!
My filet came with grilled shrimp on the top – perfect portion!
I chose the green beans with garlic as my side – a giant serving! I actually took the cooked garlic cloves and combined it with my steak – an amazing combination!
Tony got the creamed spinach which was so good!
I thought I would bring half of my steak home – NOT! Every bite was better than the one before:
Tony and I had a thing when the kids were little, it didn’t matter if it was a Friday’s or any restaurant, but we would alternate saying it was the kids birthdays even when it wasn’t. I remember one time Hannah was about 8 and she was wearing jeans overalls. When she got up to go to the bathroom, we quickly told the server that it was Hannah’s birthday, but she was tall for her age and only six years old and didn’t want to make a big deal out of her birthday.
A few minutes later, she came back and silently every server in the restaurant came and tied balloons to her overalls until she had like 10 balloons tied to her! OMG, we couldn’t stop laughing!
So when I made our dinner reservations online, I said we were celebrating Tony’s birthday – so they said he could have an upgraded dessert! Um, not quite South Beach friendly! He ended up getting fresh berries with no cream.
I on the other hand go the dessert that came with my meal – the raspberry sorbet on the left was nothing short of spectacular – so many layers of flavors! A perfect ending to a delicious dinner!
We took the back roads home and it is the perfect temperature – so cool! It doesn’t even feel like July which I love. While Tony loves the summer months, fall is my favorite season of all! 😀
Thanks for a great date night Tony! I love you more every day I know you.
Off to snuggle with the big guy – see you tomorrow!
Sounds like a great dinner!
I love date night . What a great evening you and Tony had!
Fall is my favorite too, by far.
I’m glad you enjoyed your dinner, it looks great! It also looks very romantic 🙂
What a fantastic date!
