And then I also got these:
I even ate about 10 of Tony’s fries on the way home, and I checked my blood sugar when I got home, it was UP to 53! So I decided to forgo my lunchtime insulin.
So our salsa turned out just okay. The tomatoes weren’t as flavorful as we normally get in the summer, and I didn’t get a good char this time the tomatoes were so juicy. And I accidentally erased my grill pics! Rats! But here’s what I can show you:
I blended this in two batches: tomatoes, jalapeno(s) to taste, lime juice, salt, whole garlic cloves.
I wished they had turned out like this:
This pic was from September. But I have an idea. I am going to char two whole tomatoes and garlic under my broiler and see if I can get the smokey flavor that’s missing. Hannah liked how the lime looked after she squeezed it to death!
So we’ve spent the last 45 minutes straightening up. My Mom is coming over for dinner! I try to make her meals that she wouldn’t normally fix for herself and she went through my blog and picked 5 choices, but I settled on one recipe because sirloin tip roasts were on sale for $2.98 a pound! So on the menu is Classic Roast Beef and Gravy, Buttermilk Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Paremesan Zucchini.
We are going to go to the high school’s yearly musical tonight as well. And since my Mom lives an hour away she’s going to sleep over too. Should be a fun night!
My friend Helen across the pond gave me a blog award!
Wasn’t that sweet of her??!! I’ll have to put my thinking cap on to see who I will pass this to. Thanks Helen!
Not sure when the next post will be, but check back tonight for my BSI recipe – I think you’ll soon be making your own!
she’s right–your blog IS fabulous! so is that salsa, from what i can tell. yum! i am forseeing a lot of lovely salsa in the coming summer months…yay!
The lime does look really cool 😀
Your salsa may not have turned out like you planned, but your recipe makes my mouth water. I cannot wait for fresh, home-grown tomatoes and peppers so I can make a batch of my own.
i love homemade salsa, especially with grilled/charred tomatoes 🙂
can’t wait to see your BSI! and congrats on your award!!!
Cool lime pic! Congrats on the award. 🙂
I can’t even tell you how often I have fast food moments of weakness, my last one was about an hour ago!
You’ve had so many fabulous things going on since I last checked in…which was only day before yesterday!
NAOmni
Congrats on the award…I love it, and I also love Arby’s. Not that I go very often so when I do it is very special.
What the heck are those triangular fried things with CHEESE inside?!? I can’t believe- really- that you can eat those things and still lose weight! I’m actually incredulous.
And the furry lime is a beautiful photo.
that burger looks delish.. so does the salsa even though it didnt turn out the way you hoped! enjoy the show!
I bet the salsa is still great!
Hav fun at the show tonight!
haha hannah is so cute – i like how she notices and appreciates things that take time to examine, such as the lime, post-squeeze.
it looks a sea creature 🙂
https://www.tomatogiant.com/flare/next – you’ll need audio for this website. Just imagine – 180 lb. of home-grown tomatoes by the 4th of July!!! For only $10!!!
That burger looks so delish, my mouth is watering.
Sorry the salsa didn’t turn out as well as you hoped – I’m sure it’s still fabulous 🙂
Have fun tonight!!
Hahah, my favorite thing from Arby’s are their curly fries and turnovers. =D
