The verdict? It tastes like a bundt cake. It didn’t have the bite like panettone we have tried before. Not to say that it wasn’t good though! Sorry it wasn’t done until after Joe went home though!
On the plate:
So it was a good “cake” but I think I’ll try another recipe to see how it compares. See you tomorrow!
Oh, lovely cake! I really like the shape of that pan. 🙂
Susannah – I got this recipe from oneperfectbite.blogspot.com – she has lots of recipes!
I am going to try Mario Batali’s recipe next. We’ll see how that goes!
Hi Biz, just found your blog and am really enjoying it! Is this the recipe that was in Gourmet’s most recent issue? It looks great!
I’ve never tried panettone. Is it supposed to taste like bundt cake?

True Italian Panettone is very light and fluffy – this was a bit more dense. I brought some to work and everyone loved it though! 😀
The pan is Oneida, and it was $20. I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond, but forgot my coupon – so I’ll get an additional $5 off. Love that it doesn’t stick!
That does look good B! Where did you buy the pan to make it in? Was it expensive?
Well, it sure looks beautiful. I might try making a pannetone for xmas.
Still looks gorgeous!!
It looks beautiful and so delicious!
Cheers,
Rosa
That looks REALLY good. Everything you make seems to come out really well!
WOWW good work! I always buy the lame-o box ones..haha oh well it’s tradition.
I gave you an award btw – the “I love your blog” award. Happy Sunday!
I think it turned out beautifully!
Geez it looks beautiful though.
Looks cute! I like raisins in mine but chocolate in anything is great 🙂
